Two separate insights and supposedly contradicts tremendous momentum during the current government’s term. One insight has been internalized with the proclamation of the police coup in January 2023, which is that Israeli democracy is in danger. Not “just” a danger of human rights, slippery slope or one or the other threat in the long run. Conditional, immediate and unequivocal danger.
On the other hand, an insight that came up in many, not for the first time, but moreover, following October, is that we have to find a way to live here together, otherwise we will not be here at all. Even when you disagree, even about material things – you have to talk to each other and resolve disagreements in a respectful way, and not fight each other.
