Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova took part in the opening of the main exhibition to the anniversary of the Great Victory-“without the right to forget” in the State Historical Museum, prepared by order of Russian President Vladimir Putin. The opening was also attended by the director of the foreign intelligence service, the chairman of the Russian Historical Society Sergey Naryshkin, the Minister of Culture Olga Lyubimova, the head of Rosarchiv Andrei Artizov, the general director of the State Historical Museum Alexei Levykin and many others.

The State Historical Museum and Rosarchive, together with the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Defense, the FSB, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, the Russian historical society, with the participation of archival institutions and museums, presented an exhibition of archival documents, artifacts showing the most important events of the Great Patriotic War and the crimes of the Nazis and their accomplices.

At the beginning of the opening ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova read out the greeting of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin to the organizers and guests of the exhibition.

“Today we see what destructive consequences the falsification of historical facts leads to. And therefore, they must firmly defend the truth about the decisive contribution of our fathers, grandfathers and great -grandfathers to a great victory, to repulse those who are trying to justify the crimes of the invaders and killers, who today seeks to revive the ideology of national superiority and exclusivity, ”the greetings said.

Documents and memorial monuments testifying to the atrocities of the Nazi invaders, Ukrainian and Baltic nationalists, monstrous attitude towards prisoners of concentration camps, are represented in a special section of the exposition.

“Oblivion and distortion of historical memory are very dangerous phenomena, which lead to fatal consequences for peoples and states. And therefore, those who know how to comprehend the historical experience and its lessons can rally, win, be persistent for testing and challenges. That is why it is so important today – not to forget the great feat of the Great Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War. It is our exhibition that is devoted to the protection of historical memory, ”said Tatyana Golikova.

The chronological framework of the exhibition – from the invasion of the troops of Nazi Germany and its satellites to the USSR on June 22, 1941 before the Victory Parade on Red Square in Moscow on June 24, 1945, which became the end of the end of the Great Patriotic War.

“No matter how many years have passed since then, the memory of the Great Patriotic War will be always sacred to our people. It is symbolic that it was here, within the walls of the State Historical Museum, already in the fall of 1941, the very first exhibition on the fight against the Nazi invaders was deployed. I am sure that its organizers would be very pleasant and joyful to find out that after nearly 84 years in their native historical museum, hundreds of unique objects and documents will be presented about the Great Patriotic War at all its stages, starting from the heroic defense of the Brest Fortress to the Victory Parade on Red Square, ”Sergey Naryshkin said in a greeting.

Visitors to the exhibition will have a unique opportunity to see the main historical rarities – more than 500 archival documents and 700 museum exhibits, which show the decisive contribution of the Soviet people to the victory over Nazi Germany and its satellites, talk about the great feat of the multinational Soviet people and the Red Army, the huge victims incurred by the USSR in the name of salvation of the world of fascism. Among them is the manuscript text of Molotov’s famous speech, with which he performed on the radio on June 22, 1941. Speech completed the prophetic words: “Our business is right. The enemy will be broken. The victory will be behind us! “

“The name of the exhibition -“ without the right to oblivion “ – says for itself. This is an opportunity to open the doors for a variety of visitors: families with young children, veterans, scientific communities, students and young historians. In our country, 3.5 thousand museums are from the largest federal to small local history. This project starts to start with the deeds of the heroes. 80 years ago and now, ”said Minister of Culture Olga Lyubimova.

The exhibition presents the personal belongings of the heroes of the Soviet Union – Zoe Kosmodemyanskaya, Alexander Matrosov, Alexei Maresyev, sniper Lyudmila Pavlichenko; Documents of women from the legendary Night Aviation Taman Regiment (Night Witches), participants in the underground Komsomol organization “Young Guard” in Krasnodon. Among the unique documents are the true decrees of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR on the establishment of orders and medals during the Great Patriotic War, as well as the awards themselves, including the Order of Victory. For the first time, the exhibition will present a full set of awards of the Supreme Commander -in -Chief of the Soviet Union I.V. Stalin, which he was awarded during the war.

“Noting the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory, it is important to tell the true truth about the war and the enormous price that the Soviet Union paid for the salvation of mankind from Nazism. This truth has always been and will be with us – without the right to oblivion, ”said Andrei Artizov, head of Rosarchiv.

The final hall of the exposition presents the most valuable relic-the Banner of Victory, who was hoisted over the defeated Reichstag fighters of the 150th Rifle Order of the II degree of the Idritsky division of the 79th Rifle Corps of the 3rd Belorussian Front. Among the unique documents are the true text of the speech of Marshal G.K. Zhukov, which he said on June 24, 1945 at the Victory Parade. Several pages with handwritten notes of the legendary commander retained traces of the rain that fell on Moscow on that significant day.

“The organization of the main exhibition for the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the State Historical Museum seems to be especially symbolic. Our museum witnessed the two iconic events of that era: in November 1941, regiments passed by its walls, immediately after the parade, who went to defense of the capital, and in June 1945, the victorious warriors were triumphantly on Red Square. The memory of the Great Patriotic War and the heroic feat of the Soviet people is not subject to oblivion or revision. Being witnesses to modern events in the world, we clearly realize what the falsification of historical facts leads to the state and society, ”said Alexei Levykin, General Director of the State Historical Museum.
