82 years have passed since the Warsaw ghetto rebellion – the heroic event engraved in national memory as a symbol of a chance. The Warsaw ghetto uprising is mainly featured as a secular narrative of young fighters, grades and anti-religious, as those who challenged the walk “as a sheep of the massacre” in the name of the Torah value of “Kiddush of God”.
But under the surface, another, less well -known truth hides, and allegedly contradicts every familiar image: in the heart of the rebellion stood an ultra -Orthodox rabbi – a great halakhic arbiter, a Gur, Agudat Israel, Rabbi Menachem Zamba – who supported the rebellion, called him and even punched him.
