Journalist Black used to publish a false story on April 1 of each year on his local news website “CWMBRAN LIFE”, but it was shocked when it was discovered that Google’s artificial intelligence is the lies that he wrote reality and appears at the forefront of the search results, according to a report published by the BBC website.
According to the report, 48 -year -old Black began publishing his false stories since 2018, and in 2020 he published a story claiming that the town of Combran in Wales was recorded in the Guinness Book of Records for having the largest number of traffic rounds per square kilometer.
Although he modified the formulation of the article on the same day, but when he searched for it on the first of April, he was shocked and worried when he saw his false information used by Google’s artificial intelligence tool and provided it to users as a fact.
It is noteworthy that Black decided to write false stories on April 1 of each year with the aim of fun and entertainment, and he said that his wife was helping him to find ideas, and in 2020 he was inspired by the idea of his story from the fact that a new town is the custodian where linking homes to the circuits was one of the easiest construction and organization.
Black said: “I fabricated a number of roundabouts per square kilometer, then I added a fake quote from one of the residents and then I pressed the publishing button, and the story was very well received and people laughed at it.”
After that day, Black explained that the story was a “Nissan Lie” and not real news, but the next day he was annoyed when he discovered that a national news site published his story without his permission, and despite his attempts to remove the story, it is still published on the Internet.
Black said: “I forgot this 5 -year -old story, but when I was looking for previous stories on the day of the Nissan Fool of this year, I was surprised that the Google AI tool and a website to learn driving use my fake story and show that Combarman has the largest number of traffic circuits in the world.”
He added, “It is really frightening for someone in Scotland to search for roads in Wales using Google and find an unrealistic story” (..) “It is not a dangerous story, but it is really dangerous.
Black believes that artificial intelligence has become a threat to independent publishers, as many tools use their original content without permission and re -provide it in various forms for users to benefit from, and this may negatively affect their website visits.
He pointed out that the major news sites concluded deals and cooperated with artificial intelligence companies, which is not available as an independent publisher.
Although Black did not publish a false story this year because of his preoccupation, this experience affected him and made him decide not to publish any false stories again.
