There is a special need for consumers to be alert amidst all the offers and benefits of these online shopping companies. During the festive season sale, consumers will buy goods at wholesale prices on these e-commerce websites. In such a situation, the government’s new Consumer Protection Act 2019 will provide great strength to the customers.
How will the new law help in festive season sales?
If e-commerce companies provide defective goods to customers, complaints can now be made immediately. According to e-commerce market experts, this year attractive and huge discounts will be given in all categories including fashion, gadgets, household items. There will be huge discounts on beauty and other products also. So if you want to buy good things cheaply then this is a great opportunity. Besides, customers will also have to be especially cautious in this season.

The sale on Flipkart under Big Billion Days (Flipkart Big Billion Days Sale) will start from October 16. After two days, the sale is going to start on Amazon also. In such a situation, consumers should be aware of the new Consumer Protection Act implemented in the country. For the first time after the implementation of this law in the country, e-commerce companies are going to start sales on such a large scale. In Flipkart Big Billion Days Sale, buyers will get offers and discounts on clothes, smartphones, laptops, electronic gadgets etc.
What is Consumer Protection Act?
Now the Consumer Protection Act will also be applicable in online shopping by branded companies. Even in the offers and sales of these companies, consumers will have the right to seek refund and complain against the companies. The Consumer Protection Act 2019 has been implemented across the country from July 20, 2020. After the implementation of the Consumer Protection Act-2019, consumers have got many types of rights. The Consumer Protection Act 2019 gives the consumer the power to fight even those companies, which was not there in the earlier consumer law. Now customers can lodge their complaint in the consumer forum under the new law. The Forum will take action on their complaints within a month of the complaint being filed.
Now the Consumer Protection Act will also be applicable in online shopping by branded companies.

Under the Consumer Act 1986, if there was any problem with the goods, companies used to hesitate in replacing them, but this will not happen in the new Consumer Act.
