Snapchat users recently learned about the real reason behind the famous basic system slogan symbol, which is a white background with a yellow background, according to a report by The Sun.
The iconic slogan attracted attention since the launch of the platform for the first time in 2011, and since then, the design has not changed much, which consists of a drawing of a white ghost in the middle against a yellow background.
Certainly, the logo is one of the most famous slogans around the world thanks to the popularity of the Snapchat application, which includes 375 million users per day.
But where did this slogan come from? Evan Spiegel, CEO of Snapchat, solved the puzzle.
Ghost
The most prominent part of the Snapchat logo is the ghost, and Spiegel designed it himself.
Speckle actually drew a simple ghost image after the idea was inspired by the name of the singer “Ghostface Killah”, a member of the American singing band, Wu-Tang Claan.
According to the ghost, Spital was designed before the launch of Snapchat for the previous application “Picaboo”, as Picabo was similar to Snapchat in terms of the idea, as users send pictures that disappear after opening them.
Over the years, the Snapchat design changed a little. Initially, he had two eyes and tongue, with the passage of years, the design became more small and ultimately turned into the slogan we know now.
Why yellow background?
Regarding the yellow background, Spiegel said he chose it because he did not use any other application this color in its logo at that time.
Others speculated that Spiegel chose the yellow color because it is a light and enjoyable color, and the brightness of the yellow color in Snapchat immediately attracts one’s eyes to the logo.
