Valencia has threatened to take legal action against the Netflix platform because of what he said was lies that included a documentary that tells the story of Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior.
The show was launched all over the world last week, and tells the story of the Brazilian wing from the slums to stardom, with a more focus on its performance in recent seasons.
The documentary also sheds light on Vinicius’s relationship with the racism he was exposed to in football fields, citing the racist offensive of the Brazilian star in the “Al -Mestalla” stadium during the Valencia and Real Madrid match last year.
Valencia threatens to prosecute Netflix
While this incident was investigated and resulted in prison fans, Valencia requested an “immediate correction” of the way the documentary film depicted.
The documentary offered footage of the fans of Valencia to show the abuse that Vinicius received, accompanied by a translation indicating that Valencia fans were chanting the word “Mono” – which “a monkey” according to Netflix’s translation – in the face of the player. But the club denied this, stressing that the vast majority of fans were calling the striker “Tonto”, which means “stupid”.
What does the @VelENCIACF To publicly report the abuse and manipulation that our fans are suffering?
The Netflix documentary about Vinicius, Aka Beach ball, is an absolute embarrassment. An outrage to the facts that happened that day in Mestalla. pic.twitter.com/gYf1q5Rmmv

In an official statement he posted on his account on the X platform, Valencia said, “In light of the injustice and lies that were committed against our fans, the club demanded an immediate correction from the company producing the documentary film; what was shown does not reflect the reality, and is a direct abuse of the club and its fans.”
“We demand the respect of our fans, and we confirm that the documentary has moved away from professionalism and objectivity. Yenzia reserves his full right to take legal measures, including resorting to the judiciary against the producing company,” the statement added.
