Trump decides to send Patriot missiles to Ukraine news

|

US President Donald Trump announced on Sunday evening that he would send Patriot air defense missiles to Ukraine, noting that it is necessary to protect Ukraine from Russian attacks because Russian President Vladimir Putin “speaks gently and then bombed everyone in the evening.”

Trump did not disclose the number of missiles that he intended to send to Ukraine, but he said – in statements to reporters at the Andrews joint base outside Washington – that the European Union will compensate the United States for its cost.

The US President’s dissatisfaction with Putin has increased due to his attempts to negotiate a ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia.

Ukrainian President Folodimir Zellinski asks for more defensive capabilities to address the attacks by Russia daily by missiles and drones.

“We will send them Patriot missiles, and they desperately need them. Putin surprised many people. He speaks gently and then bombed everyone in the evening. There is a real problem, and this does not appeal to me,” Trump said.

“We will send them various pieces of military equipment very developed. They will pay us completely for us, and this is the approach we want,” he added.

Trump did not specify the intended of the phrase “They will pay us completely for us,” as he indicated that the European Union will compensate his country for its cost.

The US President plans to meet this week with the Secretary -General of NATO (NATO) Mark Rate to discuss the situation in Ukraine and other issues.
