The Sudanese army can implement an air supply in Al -Fasher after a siege that lasted for more than a year news

A Sudanese military source told Al -Jazeera that the army had succeeded in supplying the Sixth Division Infantry in Al -Fasher in the Darfur province through an air dropping after a siege that lasted for more than a year.

The Sixth Infantry Division of the Sudanese Army indicated in a press statement that its forces had been attacked by the Rapid Support Forces – Sabah on Sunday – on the north and Western Al -Fasher and incurred losses in lives and equipment.

The Rapid Support Forces imposed a siege on the Sixth Division and cut off the land and air supply from it through air defense systems that were hindering the flight of flying in Al -Fasher.

On the other hand, a Sudanese popular committee announced – yesterday, Sunday, the death of 95 people, including 73 children, residents of Abu Shuk camp in Al -Fasher City, due to hunger and disease, during the past 40 days.

In a statement – more than 73 children at the age of five and 22 elderly people died during the last 40 days, as a result of hunger and disease from the residents of Abu Shuk camp fleeing from the camp for shelters and residential gatherings in Al -Fasher, the center of North Darfur State, west of the country.

The statement warned of a health catastrophe due to the bodies scattered in the city center in every neighborhood and street, as the security situation does not allow the burial of the bodies, and he appealed to international and humanitarian organizations working in the field of human rights to provide a safe passage that guarantees the safety of isolated citizens to get out of the conflict places.

Al -Fasher is a vital center for humanitarian work in the Darfur region, but it has been living for more than a year under a strict siege imposed by the Rapid Support Forces and repeated clashes, despite international attempts to pass a humanitarian truce and allow the introduction of aid.

Since May 10, 2024, Al -Fasher has been witnessing a military escalation between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces, amid international warnings of a humanitarian catastrophe in the city, which is the center of humanitarian operations for the five states of Darfur.

Hospitals return to service

On the other hand, the Sudan Doctors Network announced yesterday, Sunday, the re -entry of 34 hospitals for the service, in addition to 214 health centers, in the state of Khartoum, despite the large extent of the damage to the health sector.

The Sudan Doctors ’Network revealed in a report yesterday about the latest developments in the health sector in Khartoum State two years after the war that started on April 15, 2023, which led to the exit of 73 out of 80 private hospitals for service as a result of the destruction and looting and converting some facilities into military barracks, with losses of more than 14 billion dollars to the health sector.

She pointed out that the situation witnessed a relatively improvement during the year 2025, as the number of hospitals operating from 7 hospitals increased only during the war to 34 hospitals now, and 214 health centers distributed over the different localities of Khartoum returned to service, which contributed to reducing pressure on hospitals and providing initial care services to citizens.

She added that this return represents an important step towards rehabilitating the health sector, but it does not hide the fact that 46 hospitals are still out of service, and that the need is still great for more technical and logistical support to fix what was destroyed, and to ensure the continuity of providing medical services in various localities.

Since mid -April 2023, the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces have been fighting a war that has killed more than 20,000 people, displacement and asylum of about 15 million, according to the United Nations and local authorities.
