Paris- The international legal team in charge of representing the victims of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip and Palestine went to the headquarters of the International Criminal Court in The Hague yesterday, Wednesday, to submit a comprehensive legal memorandum on Israel’s crimes in Gaza.
The legal memorandum, which was submitted to the prosecutor’s office at the court, relates to the status of Palestinian detainees in the occupation prisons and the crime of genocide and starvation in the besieged sector.
In the presence of the head of the investigation department at the Prosecutor’s Office and a number of assistants charged with investigation and analysis, new arrest warrants were requested against Israeli military officials and politicians, and the practices of intimidation and threats that the International Criminal recently faced in the recent period were highlighted.

The member of the legal team, Abdul Majeed Merari, explained that the meeting was important and characterized by frankness, clarity and professionalism, as each party presented observations and pleadings.
“We presented notes linked mainly to the file of prisoners of war and detainees against the background of demonstrations and protests, as well as the starvation file and the role of the” Gaza Humanitarian Foundation “in starvation as a war of war and a systematic policy by the Israeli occupation.
In every complaint, the legal team called for the issuance of arrest warrants against 11 names of military and political figures, while providing evidence to prove that detainees and prisoners are subjected to torture, humiliation, and serious violations that rise to war crimes and crimes against humanity.
The complaint of starvation included arrest warrants against 10 names of military and politicians who incited, contributed and ordered this crime, which is a component of the crime of genocide, in addition to members of the “Gaza Humanitarian Foundation”, because they bear the direct responsibility for the work of this institution in the besieged sector, according to Merri.
As for evidence and documentation, the legal team relied on live testimonies registered with the video or written for a number of victims, whether from the families of the victims in the file of famine or from the families of the prisoners, detainees or the prisoners themselves, according to the standards of the International Criminal Court.
International international reports, Palestinian governmental institutions and official reports were also included at the level of foreign ministries of a number of countries.

The legal memorandum related to the prisoner file focuses on the status of Palestinian detainees in the Israeli occupation prisons, the grave violations they are exposed to and affect their basic rights, including depriving them of defending them, arbitrary detention, inhumane treatment and torture.
In this regard, the expert in international law stressed that these notes come as a continuation of the foregoing in the context of promoting and valuing previous files, except for the prisoner file because it is a judicial precedent, as it is included for the first time in the International Criminal after taking the approval of all Palestinian parties and Palestinian civil institutions concerned with this file.
“It took a full year to work for all the elements it contains and the responsibility that we have to present as it should be because it is a file of great priority, and for this reason it also received great attention from the legal team and by the court that praised the effort we made.”
The prisoner’s file consists of more than 100 pages, and includes documents, evidence, live testimonies, and forms filled with prisoners, female prisoners and their families directly.
And on the methodology of the legal team’s work, the documentation of experts and collaborators on the spot -whether in Gaza or the West Bank -is relied upon with the team, judges, judges and agents of the Public Prosecution thanks to the experience they enjoy in the field of documentation and to give him the legal nature, credibility and acceptance of the International Criminal.

He continued, “When we heard what the international criminal suffers from and what you fear in the future, we prompted us to enhance our dealings, declare our solidarity with the court, and confirm our continuation in moving forward in this judicial journey with this authority that is intimidated and the threat of closing bank accounts, as well as the physical threat and other very serious practices.”
It is noteworthy that this legal move comes within the framework of the human rights associations composed of the legal associations and more than 500 lawyers from all over the world led by the late French lawyer, Jill Davir, who considers “Maestro” the arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former defense minister Yoav Gallet wanted by the International Criminal Court for war crimes in Gaza.
