Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam said today, Monday, that the American envoy to Lebanon, Tom Barak, presented a paper to implement the mechanisms of the agreement to stop hostilities, stressing that the meeting discussed “ideas related to the steps of syndrome between the Israeli withdrawal from Lebanon and the withdrawal of Hezbollah’s weapons.
Salam stressed “the exclusive weapon in the hands of the Lebanese state,” noting that the exclusive weapon and the establishment of the state’s authority over its soil “is something that the Lebanese have agreed upon since the Taif Agreement.”
The Lebanese Prime Minister explained that the meeting discussed ideas related to the steps of syndrome between the Israeli withdrawal and the withdrawal of Hezbollah, noting that “Hezbollah” is an integral part of the Lebanese state.
Salam added that his government presented a set of ideas to the American envoy to implement the agreement to stop hostilities, saying, “We requested the revival of the Committee for Coordination of Handicappeat and the implementation of Resolution 1701.”

Berri received in Beirut, Ambassador Barak and the accompanying delegation in the presence of the American Ambassador to Lebanon, Lisa Johnson, according to a statement issued by the official website of the Lebanese Parliament.
Berri considered “the meeting is good and constructed with great care of the interest of Lebanon and its sovereignty and all the concerns of the Lebanese, as well as the demands of Hezbollah,” in addition to dealing with the meeting between Berri and Barack, “the developments of the situation in Lebanon, the region and political and field developments.”
Barak arrived in Beirut, before this afternoon, and the President of the Lebanese Republic met Joseph Aoun, while the Lebanese presidency revealed that President Aoun handed over the American envoy “Lebanese ideas for a comprehensive solution during the meeting at the Baabda Palace.”
For his part, the American envoy said today that he was “very satisfied” about the Lebanese government’s response to an American proposal on how Hezbollah is disarmed, after meetings held in Beirut hours after Israel launched raids.
