Recent US investigations have found evidence indicating Russia behind the penetration of federal court regulations in the United States, specifically the document management system that includes sensitive information on national security cases, according to a report published by “The New York Times”.

The report did not confirm the identity of the party that directly penetrated, whether it was a branch of Russian intelligence or other parties, but he indicated that this penetration was the result of the efforts of many years of attempts.

The penetration has caused the documents of some cases in the New York City Partial Court as well as several other judicial areas, with some cases related to Russian citizens and Eastern Europe, according to the New York Times.

The officials of the US court regime officially alerted the Ministry of Justice that penetration occurred, while emphasizing the hackers’ access to secret data and records reserved within the trial documents.

The officials also advised to remove sensitive documents from the court’s system to protect them, while considering this matter soon, as stated in an official memorandum seen by the American newspaper.

It is believed that the penetration targeted a set of documents related to crimes outside the country while at least 8 partial courts.

Last month, the Ministry of Justice warned the main judges in all partial courts to transfer documents and documents related to sensitive cases outside the usual document management system.

For its part, Margo Brody, the main judge of the New York Sharqia Court, issued a direct order to ban the submission of documents to the Public Document Library, unlike the procedure used as the documents were raised with it and it is not possible to access them until after verifying the student’s identity.

For their part, Peter Kaplan, the official spokesman for the administrative office of the American courts, and the spokesperson for the Ministry of Justice, refused to comment on this matter.

The officials of the US court system also announced that they have taken additional measures to protect the American court network, including the system of managing cases and electronic cases files, a system known as the presence of many gaps in which it depends on ancient systems as stated in the report.

It is reported that cyber concerns about the document storage system in US courts are not newly, as similar concerns have emerged in the beginning of 2021 due to a group of cyber attacks, but the authority responsible for these attacks has not been identified.
