Qatar welcomes the transitional steps in Syria news

|

The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomed this evening, Wednesday, the transitional steps aimed at strengthening the national consensus in Syria.

The Qatari Foreign Ministry also welcomed- in a statement- the steps aimed at restructuring the sisterly Syrian state and enhancing the consensus and unity between all Syrian parties in a way that paves the way for the consolidation of civil peace, security and stability and building the state of law, institutions, development and prosperity.

The statement stressed that the current articulated stage in Syria requires the state’s monopoly of weapons in one army that expresses all components without excluding the country’s sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity, and in a way that paves the way for a peaceful transfer of power through a comprehensive political process.

The statement renewed the full support of the State of Qatar for Syria in all fields and its effective contribution to all regional and international efforts aimed at achieving the aspirations of the Syrian people in freedom, development, prosperity and decent living.

The new Syrian administration decided earlier Wednesday to appoint Ahmed Al -Shara as head of the transitional stage in Syria and cancel the work of the 2012 constitution, as well as the dissolution of the Arab Socialist Baath Party, the People’s Assembly, the army, and the security services of the regime of ousted President Bashar al -Assad.
