Pachuca defeats Botafogo to face Al-Ahly in the Confederations Cup for Clubs | sports

Osama Idrissi scored a goal and provided an assist in the second half to lead Pachuca to a 3-0 victory over Botafogo on Wednesday, winning the Summit of the Americas Cup at Stadium 974 in Qatar, and continuing its progress in the FIFA Confederations Cup to face Al-Ahly of Egypt.

The Mexican team, the North American champion, imposed control over its Brazilian opponent after the end of the break, and Moroccan Idrissi gave them the lead in the 50th minute after a wonderful individual effort.

Idrissi took possession of the ball, dribbled past two players inside the penalty area, and fired a powerful shot into goalkeeper John Victor’s narrow corner. The video assistant referee confirmed the goal was correct.

Despite the Copa Libertadores champion’s attempt to come back in the result, substitute Nelson Diosa scored the second goal in the 66th minute with a low shot from close range before leading a counterattack from which Salomon Rondon concluded Pachuca’s goals.

Diossa advanced from the right side and sent a cross towards Idrissi to set up the ball for his teammate Rondon, who fired a direct shot into the far corner ten minutes before the end.
