Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev visited the Republic of Tatarstan on a working trip. At a bilateral meeting with the head of the region, Rustam Minnikhanov, he discussed the development of the agro-industrial complex and environmental issues.

“The Republic of Tatarstan is a region with a developed economy and high potential for further growth. Large-scale investment projects are being implemented here in almost all areas. And in general, the positive dynamics of investment in 2024 remained. Due to this, Tatarstan is one of the leaders in the investment climate in Russia,” noted Dmitry Patrushev.

The Republic is consistently among the top five regions in terms of agricultural production volumes. In 2024, the agricultural production index continued to grow. Dmitry Patrushev noted that, according to preliminary data from Rosstat, about 4 million tons of grain were harvested in the region last year, which is higher than the 2023 figure.

The parties discussed the development of the dairy industry. The Russian government provides serious state support for this area.

“Traditionally, the Republic of Tatarstan is one of the main milk producers in our country. If you look at the dynamics of the nine months of 2024, the leadership position has been maintained. I hope that, taking into account the growing trend in the consumption of dairy products in our country, the region will continue to increase production in this segment,” said the Deputy Prime Minister.

Issues of environmental management were also discussed at the meeting. Tatarstan was one of the most active participants in the national project “Ecology”: six objects of accumulated harm were remediated, and the construction and reconstruction of 15 wastewater treatment facilities was ensured.

As part of the new national project “Ecological Well-Being”, work on forest conservation, water purification and land reclamation will also continue in the region. About a billion rubles are allocated for these events in 2025 alone.

Also during the working trip, the Deputy Prime Minister got acquainted with the progress of construction of a plant for the energy recovery of municipal solid waste.
