Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko and Minister of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov summed up the work of the national tourism portal “Puteshestvuem.rf” in 2024.
“President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly emphasized the importance of developing domestic tourism. The main online showcase of Russian tourism, the national tourism portal “Puteshestvuem.rf,” contributes to the fulfillment of this task. In 2024, the number of visits to the portal exceeded 7 million, which is 15% more than the previous year. This is due both to the general increase in interest in traveling around Russia and to the creation of content that is in demand by the audience. Currently, the national tourism portal presents more than 300 ideas and scenarios for trips around the country,” the Deputy Prime Minister noted.
The portal has new sections dedicated to traveling with children, inclusive, cruise and eco-tourism. Particular attention is paid to traveling by car: the website contains more than 65 car routes covering 50 regions of Russia.
In addition, 50 national tourist routes are available to users of Travel.rf. Such routes are being developed thanks to the national project “Tourism and Hospitality”. Each of them has passed an expert assessment, has a ready-made program and meets the needs of a modern tourist.
Minister of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov emphasized the importance of the development of the portal and its role in promoting domestic tourism.
““Travel.rf” is not just an online platform, but a real digital assistant for those who want to get to know Russia. The creation of new sections, such as auto routes, as well as the emergence of a public photo bank make it even more convenient and attractive for users. The number of visitors to the portal is a direct confirmation of the demand for such services, which make traveling around our country more accessible and comfortable,” said Maxim Reshetnikov.
The routes presented on the portal are created on the basis of a digital passport generated by the region. The guide includes a detailed map, descriptions of the main attractions, recommendations for excursions, places to stay and gastronomic spots, and also contains information about distance and travel time. Autotourists can choose the region and travel format. The geography of the routes covers Central Russia, the Volga region, the Urals, the Russian North, Siberia, the Far East, the south and the North Caucasus.
More than 150 routes are suitable for weekend trips. You can also find interregional road routes on “Puteshestvoem.rf”. Among them are an auto tour of the cities of the Golden Ring, a trip from Yaroslavl to Perm, a route through Altai, an auto guide between two capitals – Moscow and St. Petersburg, the Prince Alexander Nevsky route, connecting St. Petersburg, Pskov, Pechory and Veliky Novgorod.
In 2024, a publicly accessible photo bank appeared on the national tourism portal, which includes images of attractions, tourist sites and major festivals. Photos can be used free of charge and without restrictions, which will become another tool for promoting and popularizing domestic tourism. Currently, more than 3 thousand photographs are available on the portal, covering 33 regions of Russia.
The tourism portal is integrated with the Moscow digital tourism platform Russpass. Together, these resources represent a complete ecosystem for travel enthusiasts, where you can get information about various vacation options, attractions and routes that Russian regions offer, as well as plan a trip.
In addition, the “Travel.rf” project includes thematic communities of the same name on popular social networks. In 2024, the social networks “Puteshestvuem.rf” were awarded the Runet Prize, a national award in the field of high technology and the Internet, awarded by the Ministry of Digital Development and the Russian Association of Electronic Communications.
