In Sevastopol, the construction of the storage building of the historical and archaeological museum-reserve “Tavrichesky Chersonesos” has been completed. This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin. The museum has a large number of valuable exhibits, for which it is necessary to provide appropriate storage conditions.

“Yesterday, at a meeting on the socio-economic development of Crimea and Sevastopol, the President separately noted the importance of preserving and further improving historical and cultural monuments, such as the unique museum-reserve “Tavricheski Chersonese”. We are looking into this issue. A new storage facility was built specifically to expand the funds of the existing storage facility of this museum. We have already received permission to put the new building into operation. Its construction began more than seven years ago. In 2022, the facility was transferred to the public law company “Single Customer in the Construction Industry,” after which it was successfully completed. The new three-story building is quite spacious, its total area is 2.5 thousand square meters. m,” said Marat Khusnullin.

The depository of the Tauride Chersonese Museum-Reserve is a long-awaited object for the region. Its construction was carried out within the framework of the state program “Socio-economic development of the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol”, as well as the comprehensive state program “Construction”, which is supervised by the Ministry of Construction of Russia.

“The building has lecture halls with 49 seats, premises for temporary and permanent storage of exhibits, and two exhibition halls. The facility has separate areas for both employees and visitors with their own entrance groups, including loading of exhibits,” noted Minister of Construction and Housing and Communal Services Irek Fayzullin.

During construction, the building design was adjusted in accordance with safety requirements.

“For maximum protection and safety of the exhibits, work was carried out to install door and window structures of the appropriate protective class, and automatic gas fire extinguishing installations were installed. Specialists also strengthened the premises of funds and storage facilities with reinforcement frames,” said Karen Oganesyan, General Director of the Unified Customer PPK. He also noted that the façade of the storage facility is partially lined with stone of local origin.

In the near future, the depository will be transferred for use to the museum-reserve.

At a meeting on the socio-economic development of Crimea and Sevastopol, which was held by Russian President Vladimir Putin via videoconference on January 14, it was noted that the state program “Socio-economic development of the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol” has become one of the main tools providing a comprehensive, systemic approach to the development of the peninsula. At the meeting, the President supported the proposal to extend the state program until 2030.
