Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak held a meeting on the development of a set of measures to support investments in small towns of the country. It was attended by the Governor of the Ivanovo Region Stanislav Voskresensky, representatives of the Ministry of Economic Development, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Construction and Housing and Communal Services, the Ministry for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, and the state corporation VEB.RF.

The parties discussed measures to stimulate the economic, social, infrastructural, and tourism development of small towns and rural settlements. Their result should be an increase in the attractiveness of small towns in Russia for the lives of citizens, the development of entrepreneurship and industry, and the creation of conditions for attracting investment in such territories.

The Deputy Prime Minister instructed to create a working group under the Ministry of Economic Development on the development of small towns and rural settlements with the participation of federal and regional authorities. In the course of its work, it is planned to adapt the mechanisms for financing investment projects with the creation of new jobs to the conditions of use in small towns and rural settlements, provide for expenses for industrial mortgages, integrate small towns into the programs of the Industrial Development Fund and national projects for the development of small and medium-sized businesses, and also individual entrepreneurship.
