Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko held a working meeting with the head of the Republic of Crimea Sergei Aksyonov, the main topic of which was the region’s achievements in the fields of education, science, sports and tourism.

The Deputy Prime Minister noted the significant successes of the republic in the field of education, emphasizing that the region demonstrates high performance in the framework of the implementation of the national project “Education”.

“The Crimean Peninsula is a strategically important region for Russia. Our President Vladimir Putin always emphasizes this. The republic has great potential for development and has excellent achievements, in particular, within the framework of the national project “Education”. In Crimea, 100% availability of places in preschool educational institutions is ensured. More than 2 thousand new places have been created for the general education system. The level of enrollment in additional education has exceeded 86%, and the “Zemstvo Teacher” program is also successfully operating. This year, the unified model of career guidance “Ticket to the Future” covered more than 93 thousand students. In the summer, during the health campaign, about 60 thousand children had a rest,” Dmitry Chernyshenko emphasized.

The Deputy Prime Minister noted that the Ministry of Education declared 2025 the Year of Children’s Holidays. Next year we will also celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Artek International Children’s Center. Over the course of a century, more than 2 million children from 150 countries have become guests of the center. In the anniversary year, the center plans to welcome up to 50 thousand guests from all over the country and from abroad.

Dmitry Chernyshenko also emphasized that personnel training is well organized in the region and effective work is being done to develop scientific potential, which contributes to the achievement of Russia’s technological sovereignty – a national goal set by the President.

“Today, about 33 thousand students study at universities in Crimea, most of them at the Crimean Federal University, which is a participant in the Priority 2030 program. The region is involved in federal projects for the development of secondary vocational education. In 2024, three clusters of “Professionality” began operating,” he added.

The Deputy Prime Minister noted the work on the MoreAgroBioTech REC and campus, research at the Nikitsky Botanical Garden, 8 youth laboratories and 8 centers for collective use.

During the meeting, we also discussed the development of sports and tourism in the region. Thus, at the end of 2023, the share of citizens systematically involved in physical culture and sports in the Republic of Crimea amounted to 51%, this exceeds the planned figure of 46.4%. As for sports infrastructure, the level of provision of sports facilities in the region is about 55%, which is also higher than the target.

Dmitry Chernyshenko emphasized that tourism is one of the priority industries for Crimea.

Crimea actively uses government support measures within the framework of the national project “Tourism and Hospitality Industry”. According to it, funding for the last and current year amounted to about 2.8 billion rubles.

The republic is implementing six investment projects under preferential lending programs with a total room capacity of 3,150 rooms and a loan portfolio of about 50 billion rubles.

The republic is also participating in the large-scale project “Five Seas and Lake Baikal”. As part of this program, two projects will be implemented in Crimea: “Golden Sands of Russia” and “Crimean Riviera”. These projects are aimed at building modern tourism infrastructure, which will attract even more guests to the region.

Sergei Aksyonov expressed gratitude to the Government of Russia and personally to Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko for assistance to the Republic of Crimea in all areas.

“Special thanks to President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin for his support and close attention to the development of the republic. All pressing issues are resolved promptly, without bureaucracy. Now that the main problems related to security measures and ensuring stable electricity and water supplies have been resolved, we are trying to pay as much attention as possible to the areas of culture, sports, and education. The construction and renovation of clubs, gyms and playgrounds is underway, including using funds received from the nationalization of the property of Ukrainian citizens who support the Kiev regime. Work in this direction will continue,” said the head of Crimea.

Sergei Aksyonov noted that the republic is counting on further support from the federal center. “Unfortunately, we have two sports facilities in the villages of Perovo and Dobroye, Simferopol region, the implementation dates of which have been postponed. We agreed on the transfer with the Russian Ministry of Sports. I am confident that we will be able to correct the situation,” said the head of the republic.

Sergey Aksyonov also assessed the prospects of the tourism industry. “It is clear that we will be able to talk about the most positive dynamics only after the airport opens. We expect a significant increase in the tourist flow after achieving all the goals of the SBO. We are faced with the task of modernizing accommodation facilities and restoring bank protection structures that were damaged by bad weather in November 2023. In general, we understand what we need to focus on,” the head of Crimea emphasized.

In conclusion, Dmitry Chernyshenko congratulated the residents of Crimea on the upcoming New Year and Merry Christmas.
