Deputy Prime Minister – Chief of Staff of the Russian Government Dmitry Grigorenko took part in the International Robot Battle Championship. During the event, he addressed the participants with a welcoming speech, talked with the teams, and also mastered the control of mini-robots, which competed in a new discipline for the championship.

“Here participants of different ages unite in their love of robotics and innovation. A great example of how a game can become a guide to the world of digital possibilities. Digitalization is not only the future of the economy, but also an opportunity for young people to discover their talents in technology,” said Dmitry Grigorenko.

96 teams took part in the “Robot Battle”. In the main discipline with heavy robots weighing up to 110 kg, 64 teams from seven countries competed. 32 Russian teams from 20 regions competed in the category of mini-robots up to 1.5 kg.

Participants represented the country’s leading educational organizations – higher education institutions, schools, colleges and technical schools, as well as large private companies and state corporations.

The Daddy Bots team from St. Petersburg won the heavyweight robot category. In the final they defeated the 2023 champions, Fierce Roc from China, who took the silver medal. Third place went to the “Omnivores” team from St. Petersburg.

In the “Mini-Robot Battle” category with robots weighing up to 1.5 kg, the “Plan B” team from Moscow won the final match against the Robodom Destructor team from Kazan. The Destructor Junior team from Kazan won bronze.

“The Battle of Mini-Robots” is taking place for the first time this year; the teams include participants aged 10 to 17 years.

The final stage of the championship also featured a show match of a new discipline – “Drone Battles”. The North Wind team from St. Petersburg fought with the Aerosila team from Moscow, demonstrating spectacular fights using flamethrowers and pneumatic machine guns.

“Battle of Robots” is an international championship in which robots fight in duels under the control of experienced engineers and young specialists. Since 2023, the championship has been held annually according to government orders. The coordination of the preparation and holding of the championship is carried out by the Ministry of Digital Development; the final stage this year was held with the support of the government of the Moscow region.
