A gala event dedicated to summing up the Year of the Family was held at the Rossiya National Center.
In the ceremony “Year of the Family. Continuation” under the motto “Roads to the future – with love along the way” was attended by more than a thousand people: large families, labor dynasties, winners of the all-Russian competitions “Family of the Year” and “It’s Our Family”, families of veterans of the Northern Military District, young couples who got married at the exhibition-forum “Russia”.
The ceremony was attended by First Deputy Chief of the Presidential Administration Sergei Kiriyenko, Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova, Head of the Russian Ministry of Labor Anton Kotyakov, Head of Rosmolodezh Grigory Gurov, General Director of the ANO “Russia – the Land of Opportunities” Andrey Betin, Chairman of the Board of the “Movement of the First”, Hero Russian Federation Artur Orlov.
Guests of the ceremony summed up the results, noted the most important events that took place in the Year of the Family, together with the main characters of this thematic year – families, including the large musical Sergienko family (DPR), popularizers of the history of the Upper Volga region and traditional crafts of Ancient Rus’, the Bogomolov-Zhuravlev family (Tver region ), large family of Golovchenko-Lodochkin-Savchenko (Chekhov), young family Andreichenko, who was the first to get married at the inter-row exhibition-forum “Russia”, as well as Ertin and Svetlana Kuular, who became spouses already at the National Center “Russia”, and others.
Russian President Vladimir Putin sent greetings to the participants of the ceremonial events.
“It is in the home circle that the child’s personality and worldview are largely formed, such unshakable moral guidelines as caring for one’s neighbor, one’s children and parents, love for the Fatherland, and a sense of involvement in its fate are laid. Let me emphasize that improving the demographic situation, supporting the birth rate and large families, and improving the well-being of Russian families is our priority national goal. In the past year, much has been done to ensure that the family strengthens its public authority and high status. This important, much-needed work to preserve and develop family foundations and the culture of motherhood and fatherhood must be continued. And special attention should be paid to large families. After all, a large, friendly family is a powerful stronghold for the country, society, and people,” the head of state said in his address.
As Tatyana Golikova noted, the Year of the Family has become the most recognizable “personalized” year in the entire history of its holding. At the same time, decisions aimed at supporting families with children and large families cannot be limited to one thematic year.
“Family is, of course, the most important value for each of us. Therefore, the Year of the Family, although it is ending according to the calendar, will certainly continue. Everything we have done is just the basis for building up and strengthening the support system for motherhood, fatherhood and childhood. After all, our values cannot have time boundaries. The work that was started in the Year of the Family will definitely produce results and will be continued,” said the Deputy Chairman of the Government.
The summing up ceremony at the Rossiya National Center attracted more than a thousand spectators; the broadcast of the ceremony could also be watched online.
“It was no coincidence that the opening of the Year of the Family and the solemn ceremony of its completion took place first at the exhibition of achievements “Russia”, where, by the decision of the President, everything that our country is proud of was collected, and now – in the National Center “Russia” created as a result of the exhibition , whose mission is precisely this: to collect and show the citizens and guests of our country everything that we are truly proud of. After all, Russian families are a source of real pride for our entire country. Remember how our President said that a large family with many children is the image of the future of Russia. You are this image of the future. Thank you very much for the inspiration you provide with your personal example,” said First Deputy Head of the Administration of the President of the Russian Federation Sergei Kiriyenko.
It is symbolic that the official opening of the Year of the Family took place at the exhibition-forum “Russia” at VDNKh, where families participating in the competition “It’s Our Family” gathered. The results of this Year of Families were summed up at the National Center “Russia” with the participation of the brightest families in Russia, including representatives of labor dynasties, whose total professional experience has been calculated for hundreds of years.
“Our parents help us take our first steps in life. They teach us to make the right decisions, walk through life with a confident step, and live honestly towards ourselves and others. And if parents, guiding us through life, pass on to us not only their experience, but also their love for their life’s work, this is worth a lot. It is at this moment that the labor dynasties we are talking about today are born. Professional dynasties formed the labor glory of Russia. The secrets of craftsmanship for which the profession is famous are passed on from father to son. Next year the tenth “Family of the Year” competition will be held, and a separate nomination will be dedicated to just such families,” said Anton Kotyakov.
Let us remind you that 2024, by decision of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, has been declared the Year of the Family. The head of state launched the Year of the Family within the framework of the All-Russian Family Forum “Relatives and Loved Ones” on January 23. During the Year of the Family, an Action Strategy was developed to implement family and demographic policies and support large families until 2036. On the opening day of the year, the President signed a decree on social support for large families. On behalf of the President, a new national project “Family” has been formed, which will begin to operate on January 1, 2025. Thus, activities aimed at increasing the birth rate and life expectancy, creating conditions for families and preserving family values will be continued beyond the thematic year.
