The inaugural meeting of the International Alliance in Artificial Intelligence (AI Alliance Network) took place in Moscow.

As part of the international conference AI Journey (“Journey into the World of Artificial Intelligence”), an alliance was launched that united industry associations on artificial intelligence from Azerbaijan, Belarus, Brazil, India, Indonesia, Iran, China, Cuba, Morocco, Russia, Serbia, Chile , Ethiopia and South Africa. Members of the International Alliance discussed key areas for the development of artificial intelligence in their countries and presented proposals for future cooperation.

The meeting participants were greeted by Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Chernyshenko. The Deputy Prime Minister spoke about the main directions of AI implementation in Russia and invited representatives of the alliance to take part in an international scientific foresight session on artificial intelligence, which will take place next year.

“As President Vladimir Putin said, Russia invites representatives of the alliance to take part in an international scientific foresight session in 2025 to develop joint scientific priorities. There we will discuss these scientific priorities, as well as mechanisms for selecting and funding the most relevant research. Russia intends to develop equal international relations built on mutual respect to form a common space of trusted AI technologies. The Alliance will help develop data sets that take into account the cultural differences and uniqueness of each of our states. We are interested in AI products and AI agents that will spread our common values, increase human potential and contribute to the prosperity of the BRICS countries,” emphasized Dmitry Chernyshenko.

“Today we have gathered to open a new chapter in the history of cooperation between countries representing different continents and cultures. Our goal is to bring together the best experts, scientists and entrepreneurs to create a safe, ethical and inclusive future. Its foundation should be artificial intelligence, which is already changing our lives for the better, ensuring sustainable development and responding to the global challenges of our time. We believe that by working together we can overcome any obstacles and build a world where technology serves the benefit of all humanity. I am confident that the International Alliance will become a reliable platform for interaction and will open up unique opportunities for joint development of technologies,” said First Deputy Chairman of the Board of Sberbank, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Alliance in the Field of Artificial Intelligence Alexander Vedyakhin.

Also addressing the alliance participants were Ambassador-at-Large of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Russia’s Sous-Sherpa in BRICS Pavel Knyazev and Senior Advisor on Artificial Intelligence and Digital Transformation to the United Nations Secretary-General’s Envoy for Technology Mehdi Snene.

The meeting participants determined that the secretariat of the alliance will be administered by the Russian Alliance in the field of artificial intelligence. Andrey Neznamov, head of the working group of the Russian Alliance in the field of artificial intelligence for international cooperation, was elected Secretary General of the AI ​​Alliance Network.
