Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko held a working meeting with the Governor of the Tyumen Region Alexander Moor. The parties discussed issues of development of science, education, youth policy, tourism and sports in the region.

The Deputy Prime Minister noted the special attention of the Tyumen region to the development of science. This works to ensure technological leadership, which the President recently spoke about at a meeting of the Council for Strategic Development and National Projects. This year, the Tyumen region was among 20 pilot regions with high scientific and technological potential. The world-class scientific center “Advanced Digital Technologies” operates here. There are 13 youth laboratories. About 40 grant projects of the Russian Science Foundation are being implemented.

“At a meeting with young scientists, Vladimir Putin once again emphasized the importance of training engineering personnel. The Tyumen region is one of the supporting industrial centers of Russia and the flagship for the training of such specialists. This year Tyumen Industrial University celebrates its 60th anniversary, the university was included in the “Priority 2030” program as a candidate. A world-class inter-university campus is being created, and we have seen that everything is going according to plan. More than 20 thousand new places in educational institutions have appeared in the region. “Growth Point” education centers have been opened in 33 schools in rural areas and small towns,” said Dmitry Chernyshenko.

In the Tyumen region, young people have a high level of confidence in the prospects for self-realization – about 80%, above the national average. Grant support for 15 regional youth projects is being successfully implemented.

The region has great tourism potential, and the dynamics of growth in tourist flows is visible. As part of the national project “Tourism and Hospitality Industry”, the subject is actively implementing support measures, modern tourism infrastructure is being built, a preferential lending program is being used, and there is a joint project with the Tourism.RF corporation.

By order of the President, by 2030, 70% of all Russian citizens should be involved in regular physical education and sports. In the Tyumen region, this figure is higher than the Russian average – 62% of the region’s residents regularly engage in physical education and sports, and the level of provision with sports facilities is about 64%. The Deputy Prime Minister especially thanked the region for creating conditions for Northern Military District veterans to play sports.

Alexander Moore thanked the Russian Government for systematic support in the implementation of national projects and initiatives in the Tyumen region.

“The unconditional priority of our work is the education sector. Every year we allocate more than 23% of the regional budget for these purposes. Over five years, we have introduced 28 schools and 24 kindergartens, 9 sports schools and 6 art schools in the cities and rural areas of the region. A very serious regional program is the replacement of wooden schools with modern buildings. Over the course of five years, 12 such schools were replaced in five rural areas. In the next two years we will introduce 7 more schools. We are convinced that children, regardless of their place of residence, should study in modern conditions. Therefore, we will definitely implement this program in full,” the governor assured.

The Tyumen region is among the top ten regions of the country with the largest share of students in the population structure. Therefore, the region’s flagship project for the development of human potential is an interuniversity campus, Alexander Moore emphasized. This is not just a complex of modern infrastructure facilities and places for students to live. The campus is already becoming a catalyst for rebooting the entire scientific and technological system of the region.

The Tyumen region became one of the first ten regions where a branch of the Federal Center for Military Sports Training and Patriotic Education of Youth “Warrior” was opened in 2022. It has become a resource platform for training instructors at similar centers in other regions of the country.

The volunteer movement is actively developing in the Tyumen region. This year he turned 15 years old. The team of Tyumen volunteers consists of hundreds of thousands of caring citizens of different ages.

The vice-premier was also presented with the tourism potential of the Tyumen region and the concept of creating a tourism recreational cluster in a sports and fitness format.

“Today, the Tyumen region is demonstrating a steady increase in tourist flow – in 10 months of 2024, 3 million people visited our tourist sites. The region, its history and attractions are becoming popular among guests from other regions of Russia and foreign countries. We are also very lucky in terms of natural resources for the health and recreation industry. The presence of natural thermal mineral water determined the vector of development of tourism potential. On the basis of the winter sports center “Pearl of Siberia”, we have completed the formation of the concept of a tourist and recreational cluster,” the head of the region informed.

Tourism has become an independent and dynamically developing sector of the regional economy, the governor emphasized. Tax revenues to the regional budget increased from 416.7 million rubles in 2016 to more than 3 billion 216 million rubles in 2023, that is, seven times.

The tourism industry is included among the priority areas of the investment development strategy of the Tyumen region. As part of the project, it is planned to build hotels and sanatoriums with 1.5 thousand rooms and create 3 thousand jobs.

The central objects of the cluster will be a two-level indoor ski tunnel and a thermal center at hot mineral springs, which have long been the hallmark of the Tyumen region.

Dmitry Chernyshenko inspected the exhibition of branded products from the Tyumen region. The products are popular among tourists and reflect the historical identity of the region and its cultural code. Tourist slogans “In Siberia of your own free will” and “Cold outside, hot inside” are widely used in the creation of souvenirs, media content, tourist routes and are the basis of the system for promoting the tourism product of the Tyumen region. At the end of 2023, the region became the winner of the All-Russian Russian Travel Awards in the category “Best Tourism Marketing in the Region.”
