Congratulations on Road Workers Day!
The road industry is one of the systemic pillars of national development. The rate of economic growth and the possibilities of spatial development depend on its precise work. This directly contributes to improving the quality of life of our citizens.
Russian road workers confidently solve the problems of developing and constructing the road network in the country. In recent years, a high rate of renovation of road infrastructure has been achieved. By 2030, it is planned to build and reconstruct more than 3.7 thousand km of highways in Russia. The share of regional roads in standard condition by the end of 2030 should be at least 60%, and federal highways, roads of the largest urban agglomerations and the support network – 85%. It is planned to build more than 50 new transport bypasses in cities and large settlements.
Thanks to the development of the road infrastructure, a steady increase in population mobility and cargo mobility is being formed. Additional opportunities are being created to unlock the investment and tourism potential of our country.
The implementation of measures in the field of development of the road network will also contribute to the fulfillment of the instructions of the President of Russia to achieve growth rates by 2030 in the volume of traffic along international transport corridors by at least 1.5 times compared to the level of 2021.
I would especially like to note the achievements of the road industry in the field of digitalization. Digital twins of routes are being created and services using AI technologies are being introduced. In Russia, it was possible to implement the first unmanned cargo route with a length of more than 1 thousand km, which runs along the M-11 Neva and A-113 Central Ring Road highways. There are large-scale tasks ahead to expand the geography of use of highly automated vehicles, as well as the development and use of VATS of the 5th level of automation.
Special words of gratitude to the veterans of the road industry. You have laid a solid foundation on which the construction of Russia’s modern road network continues. Your dedication and experience are an example for new generations of workers.
