Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak took part in the events of the Youth Day of the Russian Energy Week.

The Deputy Prime Minister acted as captain of the team of experts “What? Where? When?”, which included the Special Representative of the President for Investment and Economic Cooperation with Foreign Countries, RDIF General Director Kirill Dmitriev, member of the board of PJSC Inter RAO, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Association “Council of Energy Producers” Alexandra Panina, member of the board of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs Vladimir Rashevsky, winner of the “Leaders of Russia” competition in the “Science” track Maria Volman, winner of the International Engineering Championship CASE-IN Anastasia Chegodaeva.

The team demonstrated a broad outlook, the ability to debate and think outside the box, and as a result won a landslide victory.

At the end of the game, Alexander Novak awarded the winners of industry competitions: the IT championship of the oil industry – a team competition to popularize digital skills in industry, the International Engineering Championship CASE-IN of the League of Young Professionals, the All-Russian competition of final qualifying works and diploma research “Generation of the Future”. Also, within the framework of the REW, for the first time, the best employers in the field of fuel, energy and industrial complexes were awarded.

“Thank you for participating in Russian Energy Week. I am sure that the future belongs to young people: those who are just studying at schools and universities or are already young professionals. We have a huge country, the world’s largest energy system and the most modern technology. And you will have to move the country’s energy sector forward in the future,” said Alexander Novak.

As part of Youth Day, the Deputy Prime Minister met with participants in the REN.Junior section – an association of talented young students and specialists who are ready to take part in solving the country’s economic and energy problems. Alexander Novak answered questions about the current state and prospects of the global energy system, technological development of the Russian fuel and energy complex, and the introduction of alternative energy sources.

“Today we are on the threshold of a new approach to energy. There is an energy transition towards cleaner energy sources, as well as total digitalization of the industry. There is a qualitative change in management systems at all stages: from geological exploration to the direct use of resources. All this allows us to increase the efficiency of the energy complex. In the future, Russian energy will turn into a single digital platform, which will increase its efficiency and take it to a qualitatively new level,” noted Alexander Novak.
