Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Alexander Novak met with the deputy prime minister of the Republic of Belarus Viktor Karankevich.
“Russia remains the main trading partner of Belarus. In Russia, over the past three years, over half of the foreign trade in Belarus has stably accounted for. The republic is the main trading partner of Russia in the CIS and the fourth in the world. The share of Belarus in Russian foreign trade is almost 9%. According to the results of last year, the volume of trade between the two countries, apparently, will again beat the record. In January – October, the turnover grew by 6.5%, in turn, the trade turnover of economic products increased by 16.1% compared to the same period of 2023, ”said Alexander Novak, opening the meeting.
The parties discussed the work on deepening integration within the framework of the Union State, interaction in the trade, economic and energy sphere, the course of working on the formation of the united oil and gas market, as well as projects in the electric power industry and in the field of peaceful atom.
