In the Omsk region, the construction of the northern bypass of Omsk began. The solemn ceremony passed on the site of the future bridge across the Irtysh, where the symbolic first pile was scored.
In video conference mode, the start of construction was given by Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin. The event was also attended by Minister of Transport Andrei Nikitin, plenipotentiary representative of the President of Russia in the Siberian Federal District Anatoly Seryshev, Governor of the Omsk Region Vitaliy Khotsenko.
“On behalf of the president, we continue to build roads of cities. Such areas make it possible to develop a suburbs, unload settlements from transit transport, and help improve ecology inside cities. In Omsk, they launched the construction of the northern city of the city with a length of about 66 km with two bridges over the Irtysh and Om rivers. This is a new transport artery, which will forever change the logistics map of the entire Siberian Federal District, will open up new opportunities to the region and accelerate the integration of our territories into global transport corridors. Moreover, the detour will be a continuation of large -scale work on creating the Rossiya route “with exits to China, Mongolia and the DPRK and will give an additional impulse to economic growth in the eastern direction. Our country has huge resources and the implementation of such large projects allows you to reveal the entire existing potential and strengthen the national economy,” said Marat Khusnullin.
The Deputy Prime Minister added that the construction of a bypass will reduce transit transport on the Tyumen-Novosibirsk route by more than 20 km, will give an impetus to the activation of investment and construction activities and increase the volume of industrial and housing construction in the northern and eastern parts of the city agglomeration.
Bypass will become a priority transport route for residents of a special economic zone and planned transport and logistics zones, as well as residents of a promising multi-storey and low-rise housing of Omsk.
“The construction of the northern bypass of Omsk is a significant project for the transport system of Russia. Almost 66 km of roads will directly connect the federal highways on Tyumen and Novosibirsk. This will reduce the mileage of transit transport by more than 20 km by unloading the city of Omsk. From the federal budget, more than 27 billion rubles are provided for this facility from 2026 to 2030, ”said Minister of Transport Andrei Nikitin.
The head of the Ministry of Transport also added that the phased implementation of construction will allow you to run the movement along the first section with the bridge over the Irtysh in 2028, and by 2030 to completely complete the entire object. “I am sure that the coordinated work of the Government of the Omsk Region, concessionaire and general contractor will allow you to complete all work in the planned terms and with high quality,” Andrei Nikitin emphasized.
The Governor of the Omsk Region Vitaliy Khotsenko said that a new detour will connect two federal highways and provide a modern level of road infrastructure that meets high safety and comfort requirements.
“Northern bypass is the largest project of recent decades in the Omsk region. This is almost 66 km of a modern highway with five interchanges and two bridges, including a new bridge over the Irtysh. Bypass will allow you to unload city highways, make air in Omsk cleaner, and the life of Omsk citizens is more comfortable and safer. It is important that this is not only a road object, but also a catalyst for the development of the entire northern part of the agglomeration, new industries, housing and investment, ”said Vitaly Hotsenko.
The road will have four lanes and a calculated speed of 120 km per hour. The facility provides bridges through the Irtysh and Om with a length of 1277 and 176 meters, 19 overpasses, five transport interchanges, and recreation sites. Financing is carried out at the expense of the federal budget, extrabudgetary sources and banking investments.
The northern bypass of Omsk is part of the strategic development plan of the Russian transport system until 2030 and will enter the international transport corridor connecting Europe and the countries of the Asia-Pacific region.
