In Moscow, the 21st plenary meeting of the intergovernmental commission for economic cooperation between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tajikistan, chaired by the Deputy Prime Minister of Russia, Marat Khusnullin and Prime Minister of Tajikistan, Kokhir Rasulzod.

At the beginning of the meeting, Marat Khusnullin thanked his colleagues for active interaction in multilateral international sites, primarily the Commonwealth of Independent States, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the organization of the collective security agreement, and noted that the strengthening of these connections is an unconditional priority for Russia.

“Russia and Tajikistan are progressively developing relations between strategic partnership and allied. Our interaction is developing steadily in many areas. Confirmation of this is the frequent contacts of the leaders of our countries Vladimir Putin and Emomali Rahmon. Cooperation in business, small and medium -sized entrepreneurship, culture, education, sports, strengthening tourism is developing, export and food imports, and turnover are growing. The road map was prepared “on cooperation in the transport sector for 2025–2030. As part of the interdirmishment with colleagues, we are actively working in all directions. I thank Kokhir Rasulzod and the government of the Republic of Tajikistan for interaction on all issues. They intend to increase further cooperation and share positive experience,” said Marat Khusnullin.

In turn, the Prime Minister of Tajikistan Kokhir Rasulzoda thanked Marat Khusnullin and the Russian government for constant attention to the development of Russian-Tajik interaction and operational response to the questions that arise.

“The President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon has repeatedly noted that the comprehensive development of relations between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tajikistan is one of the key and strategically important priorities of the foreign policy of the republic. At the meeting, we discussed in detail the parameters of further work in the framework of the intergovernmental commission. I note that all the agreements that were signed at the previous meeting give a tangible result. Thanks to the efforts of both sides, the indicators in various areas improve. At the same time, there are great prospects in the areas of the economy, agro -industrial complex, energy, investment and others. I emphasize the firm commitment of the Tajik government to the further strengthening of mutually beneficial strategic interaction with the Russian Federation. We highly appreciate friendship and multifaceted cooperation with Russia and expect to continue fruitful work in all key areas. I thank all the members of the commission for productive work, ”said Kokhir Rasulzoda.

During the meeting, a number of agreements of the intergovernmental commission were signed. Among them are a protocol of joint activities of the interdiscipline of economic cooperation between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tajikistan, as well as a plan for measures for the implementation of the program of economic cooperation between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan for 2025–2027.
