Deputy Chairman of the Government of Russia Alexander Novak and Deputy Prime Minister of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China Din Suesyan held a meeting of the 22nd intergovernmental Russian-Chinese commission on energy cooperation, which took place in Beijing. The parties discussed a wide range of issues devoted to interaction in the fuel and energy sphere.

Alexander Novak said that Russian-Chinese cooperation in energy is the most important component of bilateral relations.

“The Chinese People’s Republic is the largest and most reliable partner of the Russian Federation in the international energy market. Russian energy resources account for most of the entire trade between our countries, ”said Deputy Prime Minister.

Alexander Novak noted that in its energy policy, Russia is proceeding from the need for a joint solution to the problem of strengthening global energy security with the international community and ensuring universal access to reliable and affordable energy sources. At the same time, the Russian Federation is configured for the closest partnership with the Chinese side in the energy sector in all directions.

“Of course, we will continue the integrated work as part of the implementation of the achieved agreements on current and promising cooperation projects, actively conduct work on the implementation of the tasks of a comprehensive integrated development of friendship and cooperation between our countries, set by President Vladimir Putin and the chairman of China Xi Jinping,” said Vice Prime Minister.
