Deputy Prime Minister Vitaly Savelyev held a meeting on the development of checkpoints across the state border of the Russian Federation. It summed up the movement of cargo and cargo vehicles on the main sections of the border for the first half of 2025, and special attention was paid to the launch of the electronic queue for the automotive pass on the Verkhny Lars on the Russian-Georgian border.

In accordance with the order of the Government of Russia from October 1, 2025, the Verkhny Lars (Russian-Georgian border) will be deployed at the automobile checkpoint system (electronic queue). This will streamline the flows of movement and accelerate the passage of the state border. Currently, work on setting up specialized equipment is being completed, all interdepartmental approvals have been received. The Ministry of Transport of Russia, together with the Federal State Property Committee of Rosgranstroy, continues to inform carriers about the start of the reservation system.
