President of the United Arab Emirates Muhammad Ben Zaid Al Nahayan accepted the First Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Denis Manturov, who heads the Russian delegation in the UAE. The meeting considered pressing issues of cooperation between Russia and the UAE in the trade, economic and cultural and humanitarian spheres.
Denis Manturov handed Mohammed Ben Zaid Al Nahayan greeting and the best wishes for the further development of the UAE from Russian President Vladimir Putin. In turn, Muhammad Bin Zaid Al Nahayan handed over the words of greeting to President of Russia Vladimir Putin, expressing hope for the further development and prosperity of Russia and its people.
The First Deputy Prime Minister told President of the UAE about the Russian exposition at the International Conference and the IDEX-2025 defense industry exhibition, which starts on February 17 in Abu Dhabi. Here on an area of more than 2 thousand square meters. m will present 40 Russian companies.
Denis Manturov noted the dynamic development of cooperation between the two countries in the field of tourism. According to the results of last year, the number of Russian tourists who visited the UAE approached 2 million. There is a growing interest in Russia by Emirates subjects – in 2024, more than 67 thousand tourists from the UAE visited the country. The increase in tourist exchanges is facilitated by the expansion of direct air communication. Currently, over 300 regular passenger flights per week are carried out between the cities of Russia and the UAE – this is 1.5 times more than six months ago. The flight map is increasing – today it is already 25 routes.
During the meeting, interaction in the field of sports was also discussed, including the holding in the Emirates of the second international multi -sports tournament “Games of the Future” (the first tournament was held in Kazan in 2024 on behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin). Denis Manturov noted the readiness of the Russian side to share experience and provide maximum assistance in organizing games.
Particular attention is paid to the issues of cooperation in the field of higher education, active work is underway on the opening of the Russian University in Abu Dhabi.
