Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev held a meeting on the implementation of the federal project “Water of Russia” of the National Project “Environmental Welfare”. The leadership of the Ministry of Natural Resources, the Ministry of Construction and the Federal Agency for Water Resources took part in it.
“In 2025, more than 5.5 billion rubles were provided for the implementation of the measures of the Federal Project“ Water of Russia ”. Work has already started in nine areas. In particular, more than 70 reservoirs are cleared, the construction of treatment facilities in Lake Baikal continues, hydroelectric plants in the Omsk Region and the Lugansk People’s Republic are being reconstructed. In addition, the entire necessary regulatory framework for the implementation of the federal project has been approved, selection of facilities for the next year was carried out. For example, in 2026, the development of design estimates for the reconstruction of the Krasnodar and Kursk reservoirs, as well as the construction and reconstruction of treatment facilities on the Urals, Tobol, Kama and Angara rivers, should begin. Work on the Volga and Baikal will continue.
In addition, within the framework of the project, educational activities are annually implemented aimed at the formation of careful attitude to water bodies. More than 17 thousand shares in the cleaning of coasts with the participation of caring residents of the country have already been held.
Dmitry Patrushev emphasized that according to the results of 2025, all planned indicators must be achieved. In addition, the Deputy Prime Minister instructed the Ministry of Natural Resources to increase the effectiveness of interagency work to exclude possible risks of non-fulfillment of indicators.
Also, at the meeting, the activities were carried out in the framework of incident No. 55 “treatment facilities”. Dmitry Patrushev instructed the visiting working group on the eve of the next meeting to visit the Republic of Buryatia and evaluate the progress of the construction of treatment facilities on Lake Baikal.
