The new rules in the field of forest seed production will enter into force on September 1. In the Forest Code, a separate chapter is devoted to this direction. Previously, this issue was not reflected in the legislation. The chapter defines the concepts and categories of seeds, seedlings and seedlings of forest plants, establish the rules for their use in the reproduction of forests. These changes will make it possible to carry out work on forestry and forestry more systemically and efficiently.

“Improving forest legislation plays a large role in the formation of an effective management system and forestry, and new rules are an important step towards the implementation of the president’s order to preserve and increase forests. Now, at the legislative level, the issues of forest seed production are settled. In particular, the procedure for certification of forest plant seeds is determined for the first time. This will contribute to the creation and development of forest seed objects, as well as to improve the quality of forest reproduction, ”said Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev.

The legislation notes that the seeds of forest plants must correspond to sowing qualities, the indicators are determined by the method of analysis of samples. The use of seeds, as well as seedlings and seedlings, the sowing qualities of which are not confirmed, is unacceptable. At the same time, for forestry and forestry, they must be grown in forest nurseries. This is the use of only high -quality planting material for forest reproduction.

In addition, to conduct state monitoring of forest reproduction and state forest pathological monitoring, it is now possible to use a new method-molecular genetic analysis.

The federal project “Preservation of forests” is aimed at achieving the national goal “Environmental well -being”, defined by the Decree of the President of Russia. Among its target indicators and tasks are the preservation of forests and biological diversity, the sustainable development of specially protected natural territories and the creation of conditions for environmental tourism in all national parks.
