Deputy Chairman of the Government of Russia Alexander Novak at the site of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum met with the First Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Roman Sklyar.
“We are considering Kazakhstan as our closest ally and strategic partner,” said Alexander Novak. -Cooperation in trade, economic and investment areas is successfully developing, large-scale joint projects in industry, energy, transport infrastructure, agriculture and digital economics are being implemented. Russia remains the largest investor in the Kazakhstan economy, the increase in investment in 2024 amounted to 25% of the 2023 level. ”
He praised the interaction of Russia and Kazakhstan in the OPEC+transaction format, which makes a decisive contribution to ensuring the stability and predictability of the global oil market. The Deputy Prime Minister urged to continue the coordination of collective actions within the framework of OPEC+, as they meet long-term national interests and contribute to the strengthening of the economies of the transaction countries.
The parties discussed the expansion of Russian-Kazakh cooperation in the electricity and oil and gas spheres, as well as the conditions for the supply of Russian oil and gas to Kazakhstan and transit through its territory.
Alexander Novak invited Roman Sklyar and the delegation of Kazakhstan to take part in the annual international forum “Russian Energy Week”, which will be held from October 15 to 17 in Moscow.
