The global digital forum takes place in Nizhny Novgorod on June 5 and 6. The event is a platform for building a dialogue between representatives of Russian and foreign IT companies, authorities, scientific and expert community. Within the framework of the plenary session “New Digital World: from monopolies to equal partnership”, the deputy chairman of the government, head of the government apparatus Dmitry Grigorenko, made the report.
Digital technologies have become an integral part of increasing the efficiency of processes in many areas – from public administration and public services in electronic form to medicine and creating additional opportunities in education. So, 85% of all permits and licenses in the country is issued in electronic form, and every second application to the registry office is submitted through the “public services”.
“Russia focuses on the development of domestic technologies and is in the active phase for the introduction of artificial intelligence in various industries. AI can have a great economic effect, accelerate and simplify the implementation of various tasks. In our country, there are many solutions that are not inferior to foreign, and in biometry services are available that make everyday life easier, for example, settlement in hotels or services to the MFC, ”said Dmitry Grigorenko.
The Deputy Prime Minister-the head of the government apparatus, noted that the IT industry in Russia demonstrates confident growth. Over the past five years, the number of participants in the register of accredited IT companies has doubled, and their profit has grown seven times. In addition, competitive IT solutions appeared, not inferior to foreign. They, according to the deputy prime minister, are important to be considered not only as products for the domestic market, but also as a full-fledged product for export. IT solutions in the field of information security, platform solutions and artificial intelligence have the greatest export potential.
Gleb Nikitin, Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, addressed the participants in the global digital forum.
“The Nizhny Novgorod region today is rightfully considered one of the key IT Khabs of Russia. We take third place in the country-immediately after Moscow and St. Petersburg-in terms of development of the development industry, the first-in terms of effectiveness of state support measures of the IT industry. We are building the only IT campus “Neymark“. We will build a modern IT technopark nearby, where the offices of leading technological companies will be located-from international IT giants to fast-growing startups, ”Gleb Nikitin emphasized.
Previously, the results of the IT industry monitoring were presented at the CIPR-2025 according to the results of 2024: the contribution of accredited companies of the IT industry to the Russian economy amounted to 6%, and 2 rubles in the form of taxes were received for each invested state support ruble.
