Deputy Chairman of the Government of Russia Dmitry Patrushev held a working meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Yuri Shuleiko. The parties discussed cooperation in the field of agro -industrial complex, fishing, environmental activities and ecology.

“The interaction of Russia and Belarus is expanding in a number of directions, including in agriculture. According to preliminary data, in 2024, trade in the products of the agro -industrial complex increased by 15%, exceeding $ 8 billion. We expect that a positive trend will remain, ”said Dmitry Patrushev.

Stable growth demonstrates both mutual trade and the joint development of foreign markets. Countries also successfully interact in the field of seed production.

In the field of ecology and nature management, active work is underway as part of the joint collegium of relevant departments. According to the results of the last meeting, a program of cooperation on environmental protection and rational nature management for a three -year period was signed.

The programs of the program are aimed at joint activities for the development of the system of functioning of specially protected natural territories, including ecological tourism and education, exchange of experience in the field of state environmental control and management of production and consumption waste.

Also in 2024, the “road map” of cross -border water cooperation was approved. It includes 119 measures aimed at preserving and restoring water bodies of the Dnieper and Western Dvina basin.

Through the intergovernmental Council of the CIS by Russia and Belarus, measures are being taken to improve the geological knowledge of the border territories, including monitoring of underground cross -border waters. This will increase the efficiency of deposits.
