During the working trip, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev held a meeting with the governor of the Murmansk region Andrei Chibis. The main topics were the development of the regional fisheries complex and environmental issues.
“The Murmansk region is one of the significant regions of Russia in many areas of the economy. The subject is known for its deposits of minerals, including rare earth metals. The mining industry is developed, in particular, the extraction and enrichment of raw materials for the production of phosphorus fertilizers. A significant role is played by metallurgy, transport complex, as well as tourism, ”said Dmitry Patrushev.
The region also plays a significant role in the field of fishing. To stimulate investments in this industry, a special mechanism of investment quota was launched – the so -called quotas for keel. Over the period of its implementation, eight factories and six ships have already been built for work in the Murmansk region. One of them – “Captain Sokolov” – Dmitry Patrushev visited during the trip.
Speaking about the environmental sphere, the Deputy Prime Minister noted that over six years of implementation of the national project “Ecology”, the region allocated more than 2.7 billion rubles. The Murmansk region participated in the events of three federal projects: “A complex system of handling solid municipal waste”, “The preservation of forests” and “Clean country”. As part of the latter, including the reclamation of one of the largest behind the polar circle of city landfills, which was within the city and negatively influenced the quality of life of people. During the working trip, Dmitry Patrushev, along with the leadership of the Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia and Rosprirodnadzor, checked the result of the object reclamation.
The Deputy Prime Minister and the head of the region discussed the participation of the Murmansk region in the new national project “Environmental well-being”. The region is planned to implement the measures of federal projects “Economics of the Closed Cycle”, “Water of Russia” and “Preservation of Forests”.
