In the year of the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Victory, repair work and arrangement of road infrastructure in areas of regional and local roads, named after the heroes or events of the Great Patriotic War, as well as leading to monuments and memorials dedicated to the events of those years, are underway. The work is carried out on the national project “Infrastructure for Life” and other programs with federal and regional financing. This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin.
“On the eve of one of the most important holidays for our country-Victory Day-in the Russian regions the project“ Victory Street “, aimed at maintaining the memory of the heroes of war and the workers of the rear. In the year of the 80th anniversary of the victory in the normative state, we will bring about 180 objects named after the heroes or events of the Great Patriotic War. Their total length will be more than 440 km. I note that such objects are always given special attention, including in order to preserve the memory of the feat of soldiers of the Soviet Army for many years, ”said Marat Khusnullin.
Recall that in 2020, on the eve of the 75th anniversary of the end of the Great Patriotic War, a number of Russian regions made the initiative to hold the Patriotic campaign “Victory Street” in the country.
“This idea in the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation, of course, was supported. Then, in 2020, the project “Victory Street“ became one of the largest in the country. It was attended by 83 Russian regions – a participant in the national project “Safe high -quality roads“. As a result, about 400 objects were updated. Each of these streets keeps a memory of the heroes of our country, ”said Roman Starovoit, Minister of Transport Starovoit.
An important task of the Victory Street project is to increase the attention of the inhabitants of Russia to the history of the country, the feat of the Soviet people – both on the battlefields and in the rear. Thus, a spiritual and moral position, a sense of ownership to the history of the Fatherland, responsibility for the future of Russia is formed.
“During the Great Patriotic War, the road workers made a special contribution to the common cause, who helped on the front line and in the rear. Over the years of the fight against the onslaught of the Nazis, workers in difficult conditions contained 359 thousand km of military-car roads, restored about 100 thousand km, and also laid more than 5 thousand km of transport arteries with solid coating. Today we continue their business. The streets, named after the heroes and events of the Great Patriotic War, do not just combine infrastructure objects, but connect generations, concluding the memory of everyone who sometimes brought the victory at the cost of life, ”said Igor Kostyuchenko, deputy head of the Federal Road Agency.
So, in St. Petersburg in 2025, asphalt concrete coating will be replaced by the national project, sidewalks and a border stone on a 4-kilometer section of Savushkin Street will be restored. Hero of the Soviet Union, a fighter pilot Alexander Petrovich Savushkin made 373 sorties on Lagg-3 fighters and P-39 Aerocobra, shot down 18 enemy aircraft in 49 battles, protecting Leningrad from Hitler aviation raids. In addition, Savushkina Street leads to the square of military pilots, where the monument to the heroes of the Soviet Union is located.
Another 3.2 km will lead to a normative state on the sea embankment. This is a street with intensive traffic, where more than 5 thousand cars drive daily. On the sea embankment, a monument to the cruiser Kirov is located – one of the symbols of the defense of Leningrad during the war and the blockade. In addition, more than 2 km of Moscow Prospekt (from Kuznetsovskaya Street to Ligovsky Prospekt) will be upheld in the hero city. The repair site leads to the Moscow Victory Park.
On Oryol land during the Great Patriotic War there were fierce battles. Thanks to the project “Victory Street”, everyone will be able to honor the memory of those who fought for their homeland. In the Kolpnyansky district, 5.4 km of the Droskovo – Kolpna – Ushakovo highway will be upheld. She leads to the field of soldier’s glory. The work will also take place on the section of the Glazunovka highway – Maloarkhangelsk – Kolpna – a long length of 9.6 km. This is a route to a memorial in the village of Yakovka. Here, in the mass grave, soldiers rest, heroically defending their native village from the Nazi invaders.
In the Moscow region, six sections of roads associated with the events and names of the heroes of the Great Patriotic War will be repaired. Including more than 3 km of coverage on Ostashkovsky highway in Mytishchi will be replaced. Near the repair site is the Federal Military Memorial “Pantheon of the Defenders of the Fatherland”. They will also repair Bosov Street in Istra. She bears the name of the Hero of the Soviet Union Alexei Petrovich Bosov, and a monument was erected in the central square of the city. For courage and heroism shown in battles, Alexei Petrovich was awarded the Order of Lenin three times, the last time – posthumously in February 1942.
Repair of roads to the places of military glory and monuments to soldiers-liberators are conducted annually. In 2023, work was completed at the National Project “Safe High -quality Roads”, including on several sections of the Volokolamsk highway. The road leads to a large -scale memorial complex “Frontier of Glory” in the village of Lenino, before entering the Snegiri. In December 1941, a line was held in the bullfinks, where German troops advancing at Moscow were stopped. The Nazis entered the village on the night of November 30, 1941. On December 2 and 4, they attacked the village of Lenino, but were repelled by Soviet troops. As a result of heavy battles, more than 6.5 thousand people died here.
