The region attracts more and more guests, and we see a stable growth of tourist flow. This is fully consistent with the tasks that President Vladimir Putin on the development of domestic tourism, an increase in his accessibility and create comfortable conditions for traveling around the country, ”said Deputy Prime Minister.

According to the regional authorities, 2.77 million tourists visited the Republic of Altai last year – this is 5% more than in 2023. According to the results of this year, an increase in tourist flow is expected.

Andrei Tourchak called the main challenges in matters of tourism development, a high share of the shadow segment of tourism and a shortage of qualified personnel.

“We will reboot the scope of tourism in the Altai Republic. On the one hand, it is important to create a modern and competitive product with single approaches and requirements. On the other hand, tourism should bring real benefits to residents and more actively participate in the socio-economic development of the republic, ”Andrei Turchak emphasized.

To legalize the tourism business in the region, the land amnesty started. In January – February, entrepreneurs who conduct business in the shadow sector have the opportunity to submit statements and start working legally. Otherwise, such objects will not be able to start a new tourist season. The land amnesty is designed to increase the number of registered placement funds and the receipt of taxes to the budget.

At the expense of personal development tools, the region plans to improve tourism infrastructure. Among the main tasks are the development of roadside service, which is either absent today or does not meet modern requirements. At the same time, more than 80% of tourists visit the region precisely by road.

Dmitry Chernyshenko noted the active work of the region to build socially significant infrastructure and the participation of the republic in the new national project “Youth and Children”.

To solve the personnel issue, it is planned to develop a vocational education system, including in the field of tourism. An important role in this matter is played by the participation of the Altai Republic in the federal project of the Ministry of Education “Professor”.

On the basis of the Gorno-Altai Polytechnic College. M.Z. Gnezdilova, together with the resort of Sbering, “Swanoks” created a cluster in the direction of “Tourism and Service Sphere”. Students not only participate in the educational program and undergo production practice at the largest resort, but also receive guaranteed employment. For three years, 650 students underwent training under the Professor program. This year, educational institutions of the Altai Republic are preparing three more applications for the Professor project in areas of agriculture, pedagogy and medicine.

For four years, under the federal program “Modernization of School Education Systems” in the Altai Republic, 24 schools were thoroughly repaired. In 2025, on the national project “Youth and Children”, a overhaul is planned in 10 more schools. Also this year, the reconstruction of school No. 12 in Gorno-Altaysk and the overhaul of the hostel of the Gorno-Altai Polytechnic College will begin.
