News – Government of Russia

Mikhail Mishustin held negotiations with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan Kokhir Rasulzod. The heads of government discussed topical issues of Russian-Tajikistan trade, economic, investment and cultural and humanitarian cooperation.

From the transcript:

M.Mushin: Good afternoon, dear Mr. Rasulzoda! We are glad of our new meeting. Welcome to the house of the Government of the Russian Federation.

I ask you first of all to convey the kindest words of greetings to the president of Tajikistan, respected Emomali Sharipovich Rahmon – from the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin. Just a few minutes ago I spoke with him on the phone, and he expressed the kindest wishes for Tajikistan.

Tajikistan is the most important ally and strategic partner of Russia in Central Asia. Our relations are built on historical friendship and mutual respect for our fraternal peoples.

During the visit of the President of Tajikistan, Emomali Sharipovich Rahmon to Russia in March reached important agreements on the further development of Russian-Tajik cooperation.

The task of our governments is to clearly execute agreements and decisions made at the highest level.

Russia ranks first among foreign trade partners of Tajikistan. In January – February of this year, mutual turnover increased by 9% and amounted to 23 billion rubles.

Active work is carried out by the intergovernmental commission. From Tajikistan, dear Mr. Rasulzoda, you are heading it. On our side – Marat Shakirzyanovich Khusnullin. Naturally, we are also in constant contact.

We pay attention to the strengthening of interregional interaction. Direct business ties with Tajikistan are developing more than 80 constituent entities of the Russian Federation. There are many promising joint projects in engineering, energy, mining.

We consider it very important to strengthen interaction in the field of environmental protection. We support the initiative of Tajikistan to preserve high -mountain glaciers in Eurasia.

By the way, in July in the Russian Federation there will be a conference on the issues of nature management and ecology, where we, dear Mr. Rasulzoda, are invited.

This year, Tajikistan presides in the Commonwealth of Independent States. We support the priorities of the Tajik chairmanship in the Commonwealth. And we are preparing for the meeting of the Council of the heads of the Government of the CIS, which will be held in June in Dushanbe.

In May, we will celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. This is our common sacred holiday. We sincerely value the memory of the feats of front -line soldiers and workers of the rear and, of course, pass it on to future generations of citizens of Russia and Tajikistan.

Dear Kochir Rasulzoda, we have a large, substantial agenda. I give you the word.

K.Arasulzoda: Dear Mikhail Vladimirovich! Dear colleagues!

First of all, I would like to sincerely thank you for the invitation and meeting, as well as a traditionally warm welcome.

The comprehensive strengthening of our relations and the expansion of the areas of mutual interests with the Russian Federation is the priority of the foreign policy of the Republic of Tajikistan. Thanks to the political will and sincere friendship of the presidents of our countries, the multi -beloved Emomali Rahmon and Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, today we can come to the solution of almost the entire spectrum of available issues. And contribute to the systematic development of our bilateral cooperation.

The Russian Federation was and remains the main partner of Tajikistan in foreign trade. From year to year there is a progressive increase in trade. Last year, we almost approached the intended figure – $ 2 billion. Over the first quarter of this year, mutual trade volumes increased by almost 40% compared to last year.

Undoubtedly, this is facilitated by the implementation of the intergovernmental program of economic cooperation until 2027. In order to increase the volume of mutual trade, the parties are currently developing an intergovernmental plan of measures until 2030.

We see good prospects in our cooperation in the field of industry. In this regard, I would like to note positive advancements in the creation of a textile cluster together with BTK Groups: sewing factories in Dushanbe and Khujande opened. The issues of benefits and preferences are being worked out in the future.

As part of a preliminary agreement with the Rosatom State Corporation, a decision was made to study the issue of creating a nuclear medicine center in the Republic of Tajikistan. The “road map” was developed and approved between our departments and Rosatom on the creation of this center.

Between the parties, an agreement was concluded on the creation of the Tajik-Russian industrial park. Currently, a platform has been chosen to create such a joint industrial park in the territory and on the basis of the Tajiktestilmash plant. This is in Dushanbe, right in the center.

I recently visited the construction site of an industrial park with the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia and the Bashkortostan Development Corporation.

We highly assess the level of cooperation with Russia in the humanitarian sphere. Recently, our presidents were starting to start the construction of the Mayakovsky Theater and the center for gifted children in the capital of our country.

In Tajikistan, schools with the Russian language of learning are successfully functioning. Today, within the framework of the project “Russian teacher abroad”, more than 120 teachers work in Tajikistan. They are directed mainly to schools of remote areas of our country.
