News – Government of Russia

Mikhail Mishustin held negotiations with the Prime Minister of Belarus Alexander Turchin. The meeting took place as part of the official visit of the head of the Government of Belarus to Russia.

M.Mushin: Good afternoon, dear Alexander Genrikhovich. First of all, I want to congratulate you and all our Belarusian colleagues on the day of the unity of the peoples of Russia and Belarus. This holiday symbolizes the historical friendship of our fraternal peoples, emphasizes the importance of integration in the Union state.

It is important that with the first foreign visit as the head of government you visit the Russian Federation. This is another confirmation of a special nature of relations between Russia and Belarus.

Your visit is very timely. On March 13, negotiations between Russian President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin and President of Belarus Alexander Grigoryevich Lukashenko took place in Moscow. Strategic agreements have been reached on an increase in interaction in a union state. And the task of our governments is to ensure a clear and operational execution of decisions that are made at the highest level.

We are primarily about the main areas of the implementation of the Treaty on the Union State for the next three -year -old.

We pay priority to strengthen our trade and economic cooperation. Last year, mutual turnover grew by 6% relative to 2023 and reached new record indicators – this is 4.5 trillion of Russian rubles, or almost 163 billion Belarusian rubles.

Despite the strengthening of illegal sanctions against Russia and Belarus, we protect our trade and investment, mutual, including from a negative external situation. Almost completely – more than 95% – transferred financial calculations to national currencies.

We also accelerate the implementation of joint cooperative projects in the field of industry. Together we create competitive products with high added value and strengthen the technological and industrial sovereignty of our Union State.

New initiatives in high -tech areas are also being worked out. Today we have already discussed it in detail. We are talking about artificial intelligence, about digital ecosystems, about the use of big data, about unmanned automatic systems. I am convinced that the introduction of digital services in general will ensure the development of national economies, and significantly, which is very important, will improve the quality of life of our people.

Of course, we traditionally pay special attention to humanitarian cooperation. These are, in particular, education issues. Together we are working on the formation of a common educational space – in the interests of training professional personnel for Russia, for Belarus.

In the field of culture this year in Moscow, the International Music Competition “Intervation” will be held. We invite, of course, our Belarusian friends take part in it.

In May, we will celebrate the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. This is our common sacred holiday, and we sincerely value it. We carefully store the memory of the feat of front -line soldiers and workers of the rear during the Great Patriotic War and, of course, pass it on to the future generations of Russian citizens and Belarus.

Dear Alexander Genrikhovich, colleagues, we have an extensive bilateral agenda. I am happy to convey your word.

A. TORCHIN: Thank you, dear Mikhail Vladimirovich! Dear colleagues!

Firstly, I sincerely thank you for the invitation to visit Moscow in a new capacity, as well as a warm welcome and traditional hospitality provided to our delegation. Taking this opportunity, I express you, dear Mikhail Vladimirovich, the words of appreciation for your warm words and good wishes for my appointment to the post of head of government.

And as you correctly noted, a characteristic feature of the relations that have developed between our countries, peoples is that the first visits after the elections or after the appointment of the leadership of the Republic of Belarus are traditionally implemented in the Russian Federation. This clearly indicates the priority and long-termity of the Belarusian-Russian strategic partnership.

Last year for Belarus and Russia, it was marked by important milestones of bilateral relations-the 25th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty on the creation of the Union State and the 30th anniversary of the Friendship, good neighborliness and cooperation between the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation.

We approached these anniversary dates with tangible results, which once again confirms the correctness of the state of state of the Union State model chosen by the heads of state, which today is one of the most exemplary examples of economic integration not only in the post -Soviet space, but throughout the world. In this regard, they are aimed at the clear implementation of the main directions of the implementation of the Union Agreement for 2024–2026. These documents are our landmark, the “roadmap” for the further construction of the Union State.

Russia for Belarus is the main trading partner. Yes, last year showed the record results of our turnover.

And absolutely correct, Mikhail Vladimirovich, you said the current year is the year of celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory, of course, a large-scale event. I’ll tell you honestly: today, laying flowers, once again in the shower I felt excitement when you understand our common story, our great victory.

Mikhail Vladimirovich correctly said that our subpoena is very wide today, so I propose to start discussing it.

Thank you.
