Meeting Alexei Overchuk with the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadir Zhaparov
The Russian delegation led by Alexei Overchuk visited the Kyrgyz Republic (Bishkek). As part of the visit, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation was adopted by the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadir Zhaparov. The main theme of the conversation was the prospects for the development of trade and economic cooperation, special attention was paid to issues of strengthening transportation, ensuring energy security, and interaction in the humanitarian direction.
During the meeting, it is emphasized that the Russian Federation and the Kyrgyz Republic are strategic partners and allies, the relations of the two countries are traditionally friendly, based on the principles of equality, mutual respect and taking into account each other’s interests. A solid basis for the development of bilateral cooperation between countries creates regular contacts at the highest level. Close interaction is maintained at the government level.
Alexei Overchuk noted that an important component of cooperation between Russia and Kyrgyzstan is the membership of countries in the Eurasian Economic Union, and added that the active participation of Kyrgyzstan in the activities of the EAEU gave an impetus to the growth of its economy, contributed to the development of the potential of the union, which has all the possibilities to strengthen its position in global economic architecture.
The deputy chairman of the government congratulated the President of the Kyrgyz Republic on a successful resolution of the issue of the border between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, noting that the peaceful settlement between the two allies for Russia is a significant factor in stability throughout Central Asia.
