The Ministry of Education and Science announced the competition for the Grants “Student Startup”. You can apply until May 20 on the official website of the project.
Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko noted that the number of granted students is increasing annually.
“President Vladimir Putin emphasizes that the share of youth technological entrepreneurship in the country’s economy should increase significantly in the coming years. Now the government is implementing a number of measures directed to this, including expanding the grant program for student startups. In 2025, 2.5 thousand students will receive grants of 1 million rubles for the implementation of their ideas – 500 more than a year earlier. Absolutely all university students can participate in the competition. I am sure such opportunities will allow young talents to reveal their potential and contribute to the technological future of Russia, ”the Deputy Prime Minister said.
Dmitry Chernyshenko also emphasized that over the entire time of the Grant Student Startup contest, since 2022, 4.5 thousand startups were supported. This competition is one of the seven instruments of the “University Technological Entrepreneurship Platforms”, which this year was included in the new Fedroekt “Technology” of the National Project “Effective and Competitive Economics”.
“For three years, the competition attracted more than 18 thousand students from all over the country. If at the start of the project we received over 4 thousand applications, then in 2024 their number doubled. This year, graduate students and residents of scientific organizations will be able to join the competition for the first time. Their inclusion in the creation of technological startups will make it possible to establish an even closer relationship between research institutions and business, reduce the way from idea to turning into real technology or product, ”said the Minister of Science and Higher Education Valery Falkov.
The selection of projects for the Student Startup contest takes place in seven thematic tracks, most of which correspond to the priority areas of the scientific and technological development of Russia: digital technologies, medicine and technology of health savings, chemical technologies and new materials, new devices and intellectual production technologies, biotechnology, resource-saving energy, creative industries. In 2024, the largest number of applications was submitted to digital technologies.
In case of victory in the competition, participants will have to register a legal entity, develop a business plan and launch the site of their startup.
