Deputy Chairman of the Government of Russia Dmitry Chernyshenko held a working meeting with the chairman of the National Assembly of the People’s Power and the State Council of the Republic of Kuban Esteban Laso Ernandes. During it, issues of bilateral cooperation were discussed.

Dmitry Chernyshenko turned to Esteban Laso Ernandes with a request to assist in the early launch of Russian investment projects in Cuba. He also invited the leadership and business of Cuba to take part in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (June 18–21, 2025) and the International Travel Forum “Travel!” (June 10–15, 2025 in Moscow).

“As part of the work of the Inter -Parliamentary Commission, we and I, the chairman of the State Duma, Vyacheslav Volodin, try to give the impulse to the relations of our governments. The documents prepared by us will help to better prepare for the 22nd meeting of the intergovernmental Russian-Cuban commission on trade, economic and scientific and technical cooperation, which should take place next week, ”said Esteban Laso Ernandes.

According to him, active work within the framework of the Russian-Cuban intergovernmental commission gave a special dynamics to bilateral relations. The relevant documents were prepared and adopted, which were promptly worked out by Cuba parliamentarians.

Russia – in second place in tourist flow in Cuba. The number of tourist trips of Cuban citizens to Russia increased by more than 50% – to 21.5 thousand people.

Esteban Laso Ernandes also noted the high dynamics of Russian economy, despite sanctions.

“Russia and Cuba – Together! We will win! ” – he concluded.

It should be noted that the 22nd meeting of the intergovernmental Russian-Cuban commission on trade, economic and scientific and technical cooperation should be held in early April in Havana. The co-chairs of the Inter-Correct Commission are Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko and Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Cuba Ricardo Cabrisas.
