One of the areas of work, which is indicated in the transport strategy for the period until 2030, is the modernization of federal roads, which provides for the expansion of the most loaded areas from two to four or more stripes. In total, in 2025, Rosavtodor is planned to bring 289.4 km of federal roads into four -lane execution. This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin.
“In the road activity of one of the important tasks, the extension of the carriageway remains. Such work is necessary in the context of the growth of motorization and intensity of movement, increasing the mobility of the population, as well as to divide counterclaims and reduce the number of accidents. The government, together with the Federal Road Agency, controls this process and is systematically engaged in this work. So, in 2025, it is planned to expand about 290 km of federal highways to four lanes, which will increase traffic safety and comfort of motorists, and also improve the throughput of the road frame of our country, ”said Marat Khusnullin.
The Deputy Prime Minister added that the transfer of federal tracks into four-lane execution will also contribute to an increase in the share of roads that meet the regulatory requirements for transport and operational indicators. 89.4 km will be expanded as part of the reconstruction, another 200 km – after major repairs. In particular, key projects are implemented in the Primorsky Territory, the Republic of Tatarstan, Vladimir Region, the Republic of Dagestan and the Voronezh region.
“Optimization of traffic flows becomes a particularly relevant task in conditions of growing intensity of movement. In addition, the development of domestic tourism in Russia is a significant factor in continuous improvement of road infrastructure. It is important to ensure convenient access, including to cultural and history monuments, memorial complexes, ”said Roman Novikov, head of the Federal Road Agency.
