
Medalists of the X Caucasian Mathematical Olympiad
In Maykop, the results of the X Caucasian mathematical Olympiad were summed up. About 160 schoolchildren from 20 subjects of Russia and 14 countries of the world took part in it. For the first time in the Olympics, teams from Kyrgyzstan and the Transnistrian Moldavian Republic were represented.
“Russian schoolchildren won nine gold medals at the X Caucasian mathematical Olympiad. I congratulate them on this achievement, as well as thank teachers and parents for the forces invested in training. Our President Vladimir Putin emphasized the importance of high -quality teaching and enthusiasm for schoolchildren with mathematics. The Caucasian mathematical Olympiad creates the conditions for identifying capable children and helps them get to know each other. I am sure that the high results shown by the winners will form the basis of further achievements and will help them find a worthy application of their knowledge and skills. And we, in turn, will continue to create the conditions for the development of children thanks to the new national project “Youth and Children“ ”,” said Dmitry Chernyshenko, deputy chairman of the government.
As the Minister of Education Sergei Kravtsov noted, the Caucasian mathematical Olympiad is one of the prestigious international competitions aimed at developing mathematical education and supporting gifted children.
“Russian schoolchildren demonstrated not only deep knowledge, but also the ability to creatively approach the solution of complex problems. Nine gold medals are the result of their hard work, support for mentors and a high level of mathematical education in Russia, ”said Minister of Education Sergey Kravtsov.
The Olympiad took place at the site of the Adyghe State University in a mixed format: schoolchildren of Russia, Abkhazia and Uzbekistan participated in person, teams of Armenia, Belarus, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, the Dniester of the Moldavian Republic, Serbia, Turkey, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Switzerland – B. Online format.
The competition suggested holding two rounds in two age categories: “Junior League” (8–9th grades) and “Senior League” (10-11th grades).
The winners of the X Caucasian mathematical Olympiad in the Senor League were Yegor Medvedev and Stepan Karpov from the Kurgan region, Danil Matveev from Adygea and Bogdan Meleshko from the Stavropol Territory.
Rodion Kazan and Arthur Ilaev from North Ossetia-Alania, Andrey Schmidt and Mikhail Erofeev from the Kurgan region, Artem Nazarov (federal territory Sirius) were won gold in the junior league.
