Munich explosions and the police confirm that there is no danger news


German police announced – at the morning today, Wednesday – that there is no direct danger threatening the public in Munich, after a heavy security spread in one of the main streets after the sounds of explosions and shooting.

A local police spokesman said in statements to the media that “security and firefighting operations are still ongoing,” stressing that the road is widely closed, without providing additional details about the nature of the accident.

In turn, the German newspaper Bild reported that the residents of the area heard several explosions, followed by a shooting, noting that a body was found at the site of the accident, in addition to another person with a shot.

The circumstances or motives for the accident were not clear, while the police said that they are continuing to investigate, asking the citizens to “avoid the area and follow the instructions issued by the local authorities.”

This incident comes at a time when Munich receives hundreds of thousands of visitors at the activities of the famous October Festival.
