Marmoush achieves a record and City makes him an official offer sports

Manchester City, the English Premier League champion, made an official offer to its German counterpart, Eintracht Frankfurt, in order to obtain the services of Egyptian star Omar Marmoush during the current winter transfer market.

Fabrizio Romano, the Italian journalist specializing in the player transfer market, confirmed, through his account on the “X” platform, that the Premier League champion in the last four seasons made an official offer to include Marmoush in the last hours.

He added that talks between the two clubs will continue today in order to reach an agreement.

Spanish coach Pep Guardiola, Manchester City coach, refused to comment on the news linking Marmoush with a move to the Citizens during the current Mercato.

When asked about Marmoush after the Brentford-Manchester City match, Guardiola replied, “Were my previous answers not clear? I was clear from the beginning that I would not speak.”

This comes in conjunction with Marmoush’s brilliance in his team’s match, Eintracht Frankfurt, against Freiburg in the 17th round, which is the last in the first leg of the German League.

Marmoush led Frankfurt to achieve a major victory over Freiburg with a score of (4-1), as he scored a goal and provided two assists in what may be his last match, according to journalist Romano.

The official website of the Bundesliga praised the Egyptian player’s performance with his team this season, commenting, “Omar Marmoush completed the most successful first half of the German League in Frankfurt’s history, which kept him among the leading teams.”

He added, “Marmoush was deservedly the hero of the headlines after a new 5-star brilliance, through which he broke his best goal tally in half a season after adding another goal.”

Marmoush scored against opponents in the German League this season 15 times in only 17 matches, that is, 3 more goals than he scored in the entire last season (2023-2024), which was his best scoring tally.

Marmoush became the player in the history of Eintracht Frankfurt who scored the most goals in the first half of the Bundesliga, surpassing the record of the Greek Theophanis Gekas, who scored 14 goals in the first round of the 2010-2011 season.

At the same time, Marmoush topped the list of players with the most goals (9 assists) this season in the local league, and his scoring contributions reached 24 goals.

German coach Dino Topmüller, Eintracht coach, praised Marmoush, in statements highlighted by the official website of the Bundesliga, where he said, “He is an extraordinary man who always tries to do his best for the team and helps them greatly with his quality.”

Eintracht occupies third place in the German League standings with 33 points, 6 points behind leaders Bayern Munich.
