Israeli writer Yuli Seker believes in an article published by the Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper website, that what Israel is currently facing in its war on Gaza is not related to a failure in the media novel as some of them promote, but rather a harsh reality that cannot be defended or justified by any means.
The writer considered that there is no acceptable explanation that the human mind can accommodate or accept when watching the image of a child who is starving and his face is a look at the mirage, stressing that “this type of image cannot be justified, no matter how propaganda tools develop.”
He pointed out that the criticisms that are frequent in Israeli talk shows on “the failure of the media novel” in the face of international pressure in their place, explaining: “They are calling for an investigation committee, and they call it the failure of the novel, but the truth is that Israel does not suffer from a defect in its narrative, but rather from a reality that cannot be justified.”
The writer stressed that all media cosmetic attempts will fail “even if they are the smartest of the propaganda minds and the most skilled preachers and the most famous influencers in Tek Tok are used … because these scenes cannot be justified.”
The speech does not change the truth
He said that what the world now sees is that “Israel runs a war that has lost its meaning, and its goals are no longer clear, and its continuation has become based on internal political accounts”, with catastrophic results on Israeli soldiers, the hostages and the Gaza population.
According to his opinion, changing the image of Israel in the context of the current situation cannot be done by developing the media discourse, but rather by changing the reality itself, because the world no longer cares about the context and backgrounds or the responsibility of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) and the Israeli government for prolonging the struggle, but only sees the final image, which is the image of a child who starves on the cover of the largest newspapers in various parts of the world.
Yuli Seker: Israel runs a war that has lost its meaning and its goals are no longer clear
A different novel
The writer pointed out that the original goals of the war faded in the midst of successive developments and the world is no longer in front of the world except to conclude that Israel’s only goal in this conflict is to starve the inhabitants of Gaza.
He concluded, stressing that the current reality imposes the suspension of this war sooner, with an agreement that restores all Israeli “hostages”, and then launching a political process aimed at handing Gaza to parties capable of starting to rebuild it, which is the only way to formulate a new Israeli account that the world accepts, as he put it.
