Israeli official: 20,000 fighters still in Hamas news

|

The American magazine “The Atlantic” quoted an Israeli official that the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) still has about 20,000 fighters, and that the volume of weapons in the West Bank cannot be imagined.

“We are lucky because things did not worsen,” the official said in the West Bank, and acknowledged that the violence of the settlers against the Palestinians increased significantly, noting that it had risen from less than 90 incidents per month at the beginning of 2025 to more than 200.

The “Atlantic” also quoted the former Israeli Air Force General Nimrod Chevir that the strategy in the Gaza Strip is the continuation of the war, noting that this “serves Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu -wanted by the International Criminal Court -and the coalition may serve, but it does not serve anyone else.”

In a related context, Chevir said that “if Hezbollah was the one who carried out the October 7 attack, our army would be in Beirut to this day.”

Since October 7, 2023, Israel has committed genocide in Gaza, including killing, starvation, destruction and hybrid, ignoring international calls and the orders of the International Court of Justice to stop them.

The Israeli genocide left 61 thousand and 499 martyrs, 153 thousand and 575 infected Palestinians, and more than 9 thousand missing, in addition to hundreds of thousands of displaced people and the famine, many of them were tensed, including dozens of children.

Parallel to the Gaza war, the Israeli army and settlers were killed in the West Bank, including occupied East Jerusalem, at least 1015 Palestinians, and wounded about 7,000, in addition to the arrest of more than 18 thousand and 500, according to Palestinian data.
